The FX30 captures stunning images with 6K oversampling and a true cinematic look. Its compact size lets you take it wherever you want, and sophisticated AF and stabilisation features let you focus on composition rather than the complexity of rigging and setup.

The FX30's S-Cinetone picture profile delivers a beautiful cinematic look straight from the camera. Features such as dual-base ISO and Cine EI are designed to deliver stunning images for cinematic shooting and workflow.
Advanced technology for incredible resolution
Its back-illuminated Exmor R™ APS-C CMOS sensor captures memorable images of extraordinary resolution and shallow depth of field. 6K oversampling compresses a large volume of data for 4K recording and output, and the BIONZ XR™ processing engine enables natural gradations, true-to-life color reproduction, low noise, and other image quality improvements.
S-Cinetone for cinematic look without gradation
The S-Cinetone picture profile delivers cinematic-looking colours, skin tones and other visuals straight from the camera, without the need for post-production colour grading.
Endless expression possibilities with S-Log3
The FX30 enables shooting with an S-Log3 gamma curve for production color matching and access to sensor capabilities. With an extensive color gamut and latitude of more than 14 stops for cinematic image quality during post-production color grading.
User LUTs for accurate preview
Customisable LUTs, both preset and user-deployed, can be applied to the FX30's LCD monitor and HDMI output to give you a better and more accurate idea of what the final image will look like.
10-bit 4:2:2 recording for extensive editing
The FX30 records 10-bit 4:2:2 video internally when Long GOP or All-Intra compression is used, giving you more colour information so you can produce richer, more natural post-production gradations.
Flexible exposure mode handling
Cine EI offers great latitude and the highest possible image quality, while Cine EI Quick simplifies setup by automatically changing the camera's base ISO. Flexible ISO provides maximum flexibility for exposure settings.
Dual Base ISO
With this feature, you can manually set the base ISO to 2500 instead of 800 in low-light situations. Noise levels at both settings are virtually identical, giving you clearer footage in low light.
Slow-motion images at 120 frames/second
With 4K recording at up to 120 frames per second with autofocus, you can create extraordinarily smooth 5x (max) slow-motion images to expand your storytelling options.
Sophisticated tracking features to focus on shooting
The FX30 provides stable AF and flexible focus for a wide range of shooting situations. Wide-area AF provides persistent subject tracking at every point in the frame, with real-time tracking based on Sony's unique AI subject recognition. Real-time Eye AF ensures accurate focus of the face and eyes, adapted to humans, birds, and animals.
Handheld stabilization
Active mode is a 5-axis image stabilization mode that uses a precision gyro sensor and optical compensation for handheld 4K resolution shooting without a gimbal.
Compensation for focus breathing
Breath compensation with compatible objectives allows for more stable images and minimizes the field-of-view drift that can occur with rack focusing. The post-production software also includes additional breathing compensation, supported by the camera's metadata.
Designed for mobility and comfortable use
Weighing in at 646g that includes the battery and memory card (951g with the XLR grip), the FX30 features a distinctive flat top design suitable for handheld or gimbal-mounted shooting. The camera grip is designed for maximum flexibility, stability and comfort in long handheld shooting sessions.
Reliable operation for long 4K shooting
With its highly efficient cooling system and stable power supply (either from a high-capacity Z battery or via USB PD 2), the FX30 is designed to keep working reliably on long shoots.
Quick access to frequently used features
During shooting, you can access frame rate, shutter speed or shutter angle, and other essential shooting parameters via a list-style main menu. The main menu display can be assigned to a custom button for quick checking and editing of parameters as needed before shooting. It includes separate main menus, optimized for movies and stills.
Wireless monitoring and control
Connecting a smartphone or tablet to the camera with the Monitor & Control app enables wireless monitoring, high-precision exposure adjustment, and focus control on a larger screen.
