The Sony FX5 6776 HawkLock Cage is designed to protect the camera and provide mounting points for accessories. The modular cage consists of a NATO rail and a U-shaped cage. The NATO rail is attached to the top via two 1/4"-20 screws and can be removed to allow installation of the original XLR top handle; The U-shaped cage is secured by 1/4"-20 bolts on both sides and at the bottom to prevent twisting, with a scratch protection. On the battery cover, there is a hinge that adapts to the curvature of the camera for a better grip with the little finger. A dedicated HDMI cable clip secures the interfaces to ensure stable signal transmission. The patented quick-release structure, developed in-house (called HawkLock), covers the NATO rail and the Arca-Swiss plate, and is used in conjunction with the eco-friendly HawkLock accessories, to provide a smooth fit and automatic lock, improving disassembly and reassembly efficiency; and at the same time, it is compatible with the traditional eco-friendly accessories of cold shoe, NATO clamp and Arca-Swiss clamp. In addition, the cage features built-in 1/4"-20 tapped holes, ARRI 3/8"-16 locating hole, 1/4"-20 locating holes, QD fitting, handle slot, and can be expanded with various accessories.
Notes
- When using the top plate, confirmed compatible shoe accessories include the Sony ECM-B1M, ECM-M1, ECM-B10 microphones, and the DJI Mic 2 Hot Shoe Adapter. Confirmed incompatible hot shoe accessories include the Sony ECM-W3, ECM-W3S, and ECM-W2BT microphones.
- When using the Sony XLR handle (XLRH2B) or Sony viewfinder (DVFEL1B), the top plate should be removed first.
