BLACKMAGIC URSA STUDIO VIEWFINDER G2 - THE PERFECT STUDIO CAMERA!
By adding a Blackmagic URSA Studio Viewfinder G2 you can turn URSA Broadcast G2 into a professional studio camera.
URSA Broadcast G2 has a digital film sensor and a built-in color corrector for higher quality images than traditional studio cameras.
You can also attach the Blackmagic Studio Fiber Converter to connect the camera with SMPTE fiber and add extra studio camera controls to the back of the camera.
URSA Broadcast includes a B4 lens mount so it can handle ENG lenses, as well as larger professional box lenses for parfocal focus and an incredible zoom range.
It is also compatible with Blackmagic Focus Demand and Blackmagic Zoom Demand to control B4 lenses when using it with both hands.
LARGE, BRIGHT, ADJUSTABLE DISPLAY
The Blackmagic URSA Studio Viewfinder G2 is attached with a standard V-Lock mount, so it's easy to attach to the camera.
It can be mounted on top of the camera body or on top of the SMPTE fiber converter if there is one installed on the camera. It includes a 7" bright display with support straps, so it's easy to position it independently of the camera, even when it's in the air.
The fitting allows the display to be tilted up and down and rotated sideways.
You can also adjust the lock knobs to vary the amount of tension in the display settings.
There's also a metal lens hood to use in bright outdoor locations. This can be removed quickly if not needed.
PHYSICAL VIEWFINDER CONTROLS
URSA Studio Viewfinder G2 includes physical controls for adjusting focus and framing features.
The menu selector allows you to navigate through the menus and change settings as needed.
However , the most amazing controls are the three knobs on the right side of the viewfinder, which offer smooth control of LCD brightness and contrast, as well as direct control of the focus peaking adjustment.
Focus peak control allows constant adjustment to facilitate focusing under the zoom setting being used.
In addition, there are three customizable function buttons that can be programmed to control features such as zebras, false color, focus peaking, luminance waveform, LUTs, and more .
WIDE, BRIGHT SIGNAL LIGHT
On the back of the Blackmagic URSA Studio Viewfinder G2 is a large signal light that turns red to say "in the air", green for preview and orange for ISO recording.
As the director cuts between cameras on the ATEM switcher, tally information is sent back to the camera via the SDI connection so that the light comes on when the camera is on air.
Just set the correct camera number in the menus on URSA Broadcast G2.
Because the signal light is huge, the presenter can easily see it if they are too far away from the camera.
In addition, the Blackmagic URSA Studio Viewfinder G2 also includes number slots that can be inserted into the light so that each camera is clearly numbered and can be easily seen by presenters.
ENABLE SIGNALING BY SDI CONTROL
The large , bright tally light above the viewfinder is one of the features that can be controlled by the SDI video connection.
The Blackmagic SDI Camera Control Protocol is a protocol that takes advantage of the erase region in the SDI data stream to add talkback, tally and other control information directly to the camera via the program return feed.
This also works with the viewfinder, as it has the same control transmitted from the camera via the SDI input.
The Blackmagic control protocol is open standard and is documented in the ATEM switcher manual.
That means anyone can create custom solutions for Blackmagic cameras, switchers and the URSA Studio Viewfinder.
CREATE CUSTOM CAMERA CONTROL SOLUTIONS
The Blackmagic 3G-SDI Shield for Arduino is an Arduino expansion board or "shield" that allows you to develop custom control solutions for Blackmagic Design cameras.
Arduino is a popular open-source , low-cost microcontroller platform used by developers and enthusiasts.
The Blackmagic 3G-SDI Shield for Arduino can be inserted into any Arduino and supports the insertion of control commands into any 3G-SDI interconnect with the camera.
This means that all Blackmagic Studio cameras and URSA Broadcast G2 can be controlled remotely via Arduino code and you can develop and build your custom broadcast automation or CCU solutions.
