It has sliding plates to position the camera over the pan rotation axis, a sliding plate that rotates around the front/rear tilt axis. This allows the camera to be rotated horizontally and vertically around the nodal point of the camera/lens, making it easier to get the most accurate 360° VR shots. The use of this panoramic head allows photo stitching software to produce a precisely composed VR environment with minimal post-production or software correction. All of its rotation index plates and guides have clear markings to allow for easy repositioning of the camera once the nodal point position has been identified and noted. The vertical stand can be unlocked and rotated by 90° (and re-locked) so that the head takes up less space during transport, ensuring that the sliding plate mechanisms are protected from impacts and drops.
