The SL500 offers read speeds of up to 2000MB/s and write speeds of up to 1800MB/s, which is fast enough to record 4K120 videos directly from your iPhone or 8K30 videos from Samsung. Thanks to a unique thermal-control design that dissipates heat quickly, this SSD will stay cool, even during heavy use. Lexar DataShield AES 256-bit encryption helps keep your data safe, while its durable metal design has an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. The SL500 also supports drops up to 2 meters and is MagSafe compatible, allowing it to be connected directly to your iPhone 12 or later. For devices that don't support MagSafe, a metal ring is included. A magnetic rubber cover, a grip and a USB-C to USB-C cable are also included.

The Lexar SL500 Portable SSD with Magnetic Assembly includes a magnetic protective cover, an additional magnetic ring for use with the laptop sleeve or other device, and a wrist strap. It also comes with Lexar DataShield AES 256-bit encryption software to keep your files safe and is compatible with most computers, cameras, and gaming devices.

Exceptional performance
Fast read speeds of up to 2000 MB/s and write speeds of up to 1800 MB/s speed up data transfers for more efficient work. Performance on Macs and other systems that don't support USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 may be lower.

Compatible with Smartphones
The Lexar SL500 portable SSD supports writing to Apple ProRes and Samsung. Record directly to the unit up to 4K60 with the iPhone 15 Pro series, up to 4K120 with the iPhone 16 Pro series or above, and up to 8K30 with the Samsung Galaxy S25 or above.

To achieve the advertised maximum speeds, make sure your computer or host device is certified to support the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 20Gb/s connection. Apple devices, including those running Thunderbolt/USB4, do not support USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 20Gb/s and will be limited to USB 3.2 Gen 2 10Gb/s.
