The 50-400mm F/4.5-6.3 Di III VC VXD (model A067) is an ultra-telephoto lens with unique versatility that offers 8x zoom.
With its 50mm focal length, animal subjects can be fully captured with a wider background, which also offers more possibilities in portraits and reportage.
The use of special glasses, including XLD (eXtra Low Dispersion), LD (Low Dispersion) and aspherical, provides uncompromising image quality throughout the focal range.
In addition to its excellent performance, the lens is only 183.4mm long and weighs only 1155g.  
Offering the same weight and compact size as a conventional 100-400mm zoom, it's easy to carry around all day.
The 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 is a completely new type of zoom that combines a standard 50mm focal length, a 400mm telephoto lens, all with exceptional image quality, in a compact and lightweight package for its class and its versatility.

FAST, ACCURATE AF, PLUS VC FOR PORTABLE, STEADY PHOTOGRAPHY
The 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 uses the famous VXD linear focus mechanism.
This engine combines industry-leading speed and accuracy, enabling fast and accurate focusing from a minimum distance to infinity.
The lens is equipped with TAMRON's VC stabilization mechanism and effectively controls the camera shake that may occur when shooting in telephoto mode.
It also helps reduce motion blur when shooting handheld in low-light conditions that typically require slower shutter speeds.

SEMI-MACRO PHOTOGRAPHY WITH 1:2 MAGNIFICATION RATIO IN THE EXTREME OF 50MM 
The 50-400mm F4.5-6.3 is capable of high performance, especially for ultra-telephoto zoom. 
Users can enjoy semi-macro photography with a minimum focus of 0.25m and a magnification ratio of 1:2 at 50mm.
In addition, at the 400mm end, the minimum focus is 1.5m, providing a maximum magnification ratio of 1:4 for stunning and dynamic shots.

TAMRON LENS UTILITY 
The new software "TAMRON Lens Utility", has been specially developed by Tamron to configure its own compatible lenses. 
The TAMRON Lens Utility can be operated using the computer by connecting the lens from its connector port via the optional TAMRON connection cable. 
Users can customize the functions and update the firmware through the lens. 
Personal customization offers flexible photography options to match the photographic situation, such as photography or videography. 
With the help of personal configuration, the lens can be optimally adapted to the respective photographic situation, e.g. photo or video.

VC (VIBRATION COMPENSATION)
Vibration Compensation – Image stabilization developed by Tamron that compensates for unwanted camera shakes for sharper images. 
Shutter speeds up to 5 EV slower are possible with VC Image Stabilizer.

ZOOM LOCK MECHANISM (ZL)
Zoom Lock – ZL mechanism prevents unwanted extension of the tube during transport. 
The lock, which is actuated by a switch, protects the lens from damage while ensuring that it is quickly ready for use.

BBAR G2
Wideband Anti-Glare – Wideband Anti-Glare – BBAR multi-layer coating ensures brilliant images with natural colours. Reduces the reflection of light rays hitting the lens surface. 
The most advanced BBAR G2 treatment has been used since 2019.
