The 35-100mm f/2.8f/2.8 Di III VXD has been developed to meet this demand, focusing on popular focal lengths for portraits – 35mm, 50mm, 85mm and 100mm – in a single lens. The 35-100mm F2.8 is designed with portability as a top priority. Measuring just 119.2 mm in length and weighing 565 g, it achieves exceptional compaction. This was achieved through a multifaceted approach: optimization of the switch section and internal structure, refinement of the component format, careful revision of the optical design, all while ensuring high rigidity. Retaining its unique 35-100mm focal length and bright, constant aperture of f/2.8, it combines portability with reliability. So it's perfect for everything from candid portraits to travel shots. In addition, the minimised extension of the lens barrel stabilises the centre of gravity while zooming, ensuring stable operation for handheld shots and gimbal video work.
High resolution and rich bokeh
Despite its compact size, the 35-100mm f/2.8 lens produces sharp, detailed images. The optical design, with 15 elements in 13 groups, includes one XLD (Extra-Low Dispersion) element, two LD (Low Dispersion) elements, and three GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) elements. These suppress various aberrations, including chromatic aberration, providing high resolution throughout the zoom range. In addition, the BBAR-G2 (2nd Generation Wideband Anti-Reflection) coating minimizes ghosting and reflection, even in backlit conditions. Combined with the smooth bokeh of the f/2.8 aperture, this lens reproduces portraits and travel scenes with stunning clarity.
