TAMRON 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 for Sony E-mount

Tamron Co., Ltd. (President and CEO: Shiro Ajisaka), a leading manufacturer of optics for various applications, announces the development of a second-generation fast aperture zoom lens for Mirrorless Cameras, Sony E-mount Full Frame Sensor, 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III VXD G2 (Model A063).

The 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is the successor to the 28-75mm F/2.8 Di III RXD (Model A036), a popular zoom lens that has garnered high reviews around the world. 

It reflects the fruits of continuous evolution and customer-focused refinement. Retaining the well-received compact size of its predecessor, the new 28-75mm F2.8 G2 incorporates a new optical construction based on a design that has been revamped to improve imaging performance, and its features are compatible with the latest digital camera models that offer increased resolution. 
The AF drive, the focusing mechanism of TAMRON's VXD (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive) linear motor, is adopted to deliver higher autofocus speed with greater accuracy. With the 0.18 m (7.1 in) MOD (Minimum Object Distance) At the wide end and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.7, the lens offers advanced close-up performance.
TAMRON pioneered the category of fast aperture standard zoom compact lenses for mirrorless cameras and the new 28-75mm F2.8 G2 is truly a high-end lens for everyday use.

Originally developed software 'TAMRON Lens Utility' for lens function customization

This lens is compatible with the 'TAMRON Lens Utility' software originally and exclusively developed by TAMRON. The TAMRON Lens Utility can be operated via your own computer by connecting the lens to its connection port via the connection cable*. 
Users can customize the functions and update the firmware through the lens instead of the camera. 
Personal customization offers flexible shooting options to match the shooting situation, such as photography or videography. 
* TAMRON connection cable (USB Type-A to Type-C) sold separately.

LENS FUNCTIONS: 

- Settings of the setting button focus
- AB Focus: Set 2 focus positions (A and B) and have the focus automatically switch between A and B
- Preset focus: Set your desired focus position and move the focus to the recorded point by one click
- Select AF/MF: Select the AF and MF function using the focus setting button
- Change the Focus Ring Function (Focus/Aperture): Change the focus ring function from focus adjustment to aperture adjustment
- Assign Camera Role: Assign custom camera body roles to the setting button  of focus
- Focus Ring Settings - MF Ring Rotation: Changes the direction of rotation of the focus ring - MF Method: Choose the focus operation method when using the focus ring
