Compact, lightweight and easy fixed
This high-performance 600mm f/6.3 super-telephoto prime lens is the world's lightest at just 995g (minus the tripod foot). A combination of G Master optics and the latest mechanical design offers incredibly low weight, smooth handling and minimal fatigue, while delivering exceptional image quality when shooting handheld. With a total length of just 263mm, it offers exceptional mobility.
Impressive details
Super ED (Extra-low Dispersion) and ED glass elements in an advanced optical design minimise aberration for a high resolution befitting the G Master brand. Sony's original Nano AR Coating II effectively suppresses flare and ghosting for superior sharpness and contrast in backlit conditions. An 11-blade circular aperture and individually optimised spherical aberration contribute to smooth, creamy G Master bokeh.
AF that captures reliably
Two of Sony's high-thrust XD (extreme dynamic) linear motors work with an advanced algorithm to unlock the full speed and AF accuracy potential of the latest camera bodies. Subject focusing and tracking are fast, accurate and quiet. The unpredictable movements of birds and wildlife are reliably tracked and captured, even in continuous shooting sequences at 120fps with the α9 III's body, for example.
Advanced control and shooting freedom
Optical image stabilisation with selectable modes delivers sharp images when shooting handheld. The lens and a compatible body can work together for even more effective stabilisation. Four focus hold buttons and a function ring can be customised as needed, while focus range limiter switches and continuous DMF offer flexible focus control. The focal length can be extended to 1200mm with an optional teleconverter.
Reliable in challenging outdoor conditions
A dust and moisture-resistant design ensures high reliability in outdoor conditions where light rain and dust can be a problem. The front lens element has a fluorine coating that prevents contaminants from adhering to the lens surface, making it easy to clean.
