SOFT AF IDEAL FOR VIDEO RECORDING
The combination of optical design for video AF and the use of the stepping motor allows for smooth and quiet autofocus.
Using the facial recognition or eye AF functions of the cameras, the focus will be continuously on the face or eye, even if the subject moves while shooting.

The brass mount combines high precision with robust construction.
Its treated surfaces and increased resistance contribute to the lens's exceptional durability.

The mount has a special seal* to make the lens an excellent choice in a wide variety of conditions.

To achieve such a compact construction, the lens design is considered based on the capabilities of the camera body function to correct* the amount of peripheral light and distortion.

DESIGNED TO MINIMIZE FLARE AND GHOSTING
From the beginning of the lens design process, flare and ghosting were measured to establish an optical design that was resistant to strong incident light sources such as backlighting.
SIGMA's Super Multi-Layer Coating reduces glare and ghosting to help photographers produce sharp, high-contrast images, even in backlit conditions.
The lens hood (comes included) can be attached to block magnet light, which can have a negative effect on rendering performance.
ROUNDED DIAPHRAGM
The rounded 9-blade diaphragm creates an attractive blur in the out-of-focus areas of the image.
