The Sigma 15mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary is an ultra-wide-angle lens with an especially portable design, surprisingly compact and fast, with a wide field of view. Ideal for landscapes, interiors, architecture and astrophotography, this is a maximalist lens with a minimalist format.

Speed and accuracy

• Designed for use with APS-C format cameras, this lens offers a 22.5mm equivalent focal length;
• The ultra-wide field of view, coupled with a fast maximum aperture of f/1.4, is ideal for working in low-light conditions and for controlling depth of field;
• The optical design includes FLD and SLD glass elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and achieve high color accuracy;
• Three double-sided aspherical elements control distortion and spherical aberrations, as well as contribute to high sharpness and reduce lens size and weight;
• Optical design prioritizes edge-to-edge sharpness and reduced septic aberration (coma), even at maximum apertures;
• Lens and surface reflections are also well-controlled to suit working in bright, high-contrast environments;
• The rounded 9-blade diaphragm contributes to smooth, rounded bokeh.

• Compared to the 16mm f/1.4 DC Contemporary lens, this 15mm f/1.4 is 30% shorter and 50% lighter – this lens measures 6.6cm long and weighs around 227g, while the 16mm f/1.4 measures over 8.9cm long and weighs over 397g;
• Suitable for both stills and videos, the compact, lightweight, and balanced design makes this product an ideal choice for gimbal shooting and vlogging;
• The stepping motor provides fast, quiet, and accurate autofocus performance. In addition, the focus intensity variation is well controlled to maintain the field of view during focus adjustment.
  

Durable design and handling

• The dust and splash-resistant design is ideal for working outdoors and in harsh weather conditions. In addition, a water- and oil-repellent coating has been applied to the front lens to resist the elements and make it easier to clean;
• Manual aperture ring for direct and intuitive exposure control; there is also an 'A' position to allow aperture control by the camera;
• The included petal-shaped lens hood reduces lens flare and protects against accidental impacts;
• It combines perfectly with other Sigma f/1.4 DC lenses to create a compact system of fast and consistent prime lenses, covering a wide range of focal lengths.
