Offering a focal length equivalent to 19.2mm at full-frame, this lens offers a view that spans the entire scene, making it ideal for landscape, street and interior photography, as well as vlogging. Fast and reliable autofocus with minimized focus breathing is ensured by the stepping AF motor. In addition, the lens's large aperture allows for background blur and provides excellent low-light performance.
Optical Construction
Three double-sided aspherical elements contribute to the compact lens structure and limit distortion, as well as improve overall image sharpness. Two special low dispersion (SLD) elements reduce color scattering and chromatic aberrations, providing greater clarity and color accuracy. It features 14 lens elements in 12 groups.
Ultra-compact design
The 12mm f/1.4 DC lens achieves the lowest weight in Sigma's f/1.4 DC Contemporary prime lens series, making it an excellent choice for handheld video and travel photography. In addition, it has a 20% shorter length than the previous Sigma 16mm f/1.4 DC DN lens, allowing it to easily fit into most bags.
