An ultra-compact mid-telephoto lens designed for L-mount full-frame mirrorless cameras, Panasonic's Lumix S 100mm f/2.8 Macro Lens offers a unique perspective for capturing detailed portraits and close-ups. The incorporation of Panasonic's two-phase linear motor system ensures high-speed autofocus performance. Boasting a highly lightweight design, This lens weighs only 10.5 ounces, making it ideal for traveling. Chromatic and spherical aberrations are greatly reduced by the lens's construction, which includes three aspherical elements.
Two-phase Linear Motor
A newly developed two-phase linear motor suppresses focal breathing and allows for near-silent operation of the lens. This motor is not only a boon for photography, but also a great asset for capturing high-quality video.
In addition to providing high lens performance, this compact motor design reduces overall size and enables class-leading mobility.
Macroproject
A 1:1 magnification ratio and a minimum focusing distance of 8" are available for working with close-up subjects. The 9-blade circular diaphragm creates a round, flattering bokeh. Focus bracketing with this lens allows you to capture images at multiple focal points and avoid an excessively shallow depth of field in your images.
Optical design and lens construction
The Lumix S 100mm f/2.8 offers sharp image sharpness while maintaining its compactness by incorporating three aspherical elements, two ultra-extra-low dispersion elements, and one extra-low dispersion element. Moreover, this design contributes greatly to reducing chromatic and spherical aberrations. Featured on the outside of the lens is a focus mode dial for quickly switching between autofocus and manual. Directly next to it is a focus range selector switch that allows you to choose between 0.204-0.5m, 0.5m-∞ and FULL.
Weather resistant
Resistant to dust and splashes, the Lumix S 100mm f/2.8 can operate in temperatures from -10ºC.
