Smooth bokeh
The beautiful bokeh background is a must for perfect portraits. To give you complete creative control, the 45mm F1.2 PRO bokeh provides two types of bokeh effects. Shoot with wide apertures at f1.2 to produce bokeh that transitions smoothly from sharp, in-focus areas to out-of-focus areas. The softer background enhances your subject. Or, produce traditional solid bokeh by closing the aperture, enhancing the shapes in the background. Combined with the subject being in sharp focus, it will create a natural three-dimensional effect. And because the 45mm F1.2 PRO doesn't use filters, light transmission is maximised for sharp detail and stunning bokeh in both high and low lights.
Fast and Accurate AF
One of the keys to excellent image definition is focus. Some fast prime lenses compromise AF speed by using a large focus mechanism with multiple elements. Luckily, the 45mm F1.2 PRO has been specially designed to be compromise-free. It uses a lightweight internal focusing mechanism with a single lens element to deliver fast, sharp AF performance, even at the widest aperture of the f1.2 lens. Excellent close-up shooting capabilities help capture larger, more dramatic areas of bokeh. And the Still & Movie Compatible engine provides quiet, smooth focusing — ideal for video recording.
Convenience and Control PRO
Designed to give you efficient and convenient control of your equipment. The customisable lens function button (L-Fn) allows you to control your choice of camera functions directly from the lens. Programmable functions include Focus Peaking, AF Stop, and Magnify. The Manual Focus Clutch on the lens's focus ring lets you instantly switch between autofocus and manual focus. You can preset a focus point using the easy-to-read distance meter, and by pulling the ring toward you, you instantly return to that point from AF mode.
