Irix 150mm f/2.8 is not just a Macro lens – the 150mm focal length offers an excellent compromise between the narrow field of view desired in advertising and portrait photography. The optical scheme of the lens is designed to achieve the best possible image quality: no color aberration, no distortion, no worries!
The unique feature of the Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 is an aperture diaphragm consisting of 11 rounded aperture blades, so edge-to-edge image quality remains excellent even when relatively low aperture values are used.
Another advantage of the 11-blade rounded aperture mechanism is to create smooth background blur (called Bokeh) with natural transmission between in-focus and out-of-focus areas.
The Irix 150mm f/2.8 lens communicates completely with the camera due to its electronic module (AE):
Focus confirmation - the camera will let you know when you correctly set the focus point;

Because of the focal length in the middle of the telephoto lens and a fast aperture of f/2.8, the depth of field is low, so the focus must be smooth and precise. To ensure high wearing comfort, the lens has a wide rubberized focus ring with a special notch which, combined with a 270-degree rotation angle, provides quick, easy and precise focus adjustment.
The Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 offers a smooth workflow in the macro setup - if we set the focus point once, we can use the focus lock ring to lock the entire build. It's especially useful when we're moving with the lens frequently - during walking or studio sessions - but still want to make sure the proper reproduction rate is hit.
The Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro 1:1 lens is equipped with weather sealing in five key locations to protect the parts inside from unfavorable weather conditions, so it's okay to use it even in weather and harsh conditions.
To further seal the lens structure, the Irix 150mm f/2.8 Macro has internal focus - the lens doesn't change size, so there's no chance of getting dust or moisture inside. In addition, the front element of the lens remains at the same working distance from the subject when shooting, so the lens remains compact and convenient to use.
