A DARING INVESTIGATION INTO SPECTACULAR WONDERS
The name "X-tract" is inspired by the word "extract", which means "to extract the essence".
Its slim design allows you to easily access narrow and hidden spaces, capturing microscopic details invisible to the naked eye and transforming them into stunning images.
Combining a large T8 aperture, wide-angle macro zoom capabilities, and a design inspired by spacecraft exploration, it redefines macro cinematography.
The X-tract lens becomes a tool for exploration and discovery, extracting unique visual creativity from unknown dimensions and perspectives.

UNPRECEDENTED VIEW WITH PROBE ZOOM
The X-tract 18-28 mm T8 wide-angle zoom probe lens series redefines the possibilities of macro cinematography.
With a combination of 0°, 90° and 360° lenses, it offers unlimited creative flexibility.
The X-tract zoom probe covers focal lengths essential for commercial shooting, allowing for effortless adjustments even in confined spaces, while providing enhanced spatial depth and dimensional detail that redefines the capabilities of probe lenses.
This flexibility empowers filmmakers with exceptional adaptability and creative expression.

MASTERFUL OPTICAL BALANCE FOR FLAWLESS IMAGES
The X-tract 18-28 mm T8 0° lens features 7 high refractive index (HRI) lenses and 6 extra-low dispersion (ED) lenses, providing an optimal balance between size and weight while minimizing chromatic aberrations, distortions, and optical flaws common in probe lenses.
Its innovative differential HRI lens distribution provides top-of-the-line image quality and accurate color temperature, effectively reducing the yellowish cast commonly seen in other probe lenses.
Distortion is maintained within ± 2% throughout the zoom range, with near-zero distortion and focus breathing at 24mm, ensuring accurate rendering of complex micro-details.

MORE DIMENSIONS, MORE CREATIVITY
The combination of the prismatic structure and 360° rotating ring offers an additional dimension for creative adjustments and provides a more immersive macro experience.
The entire series features a 300° soft-focus stroke, tested for high-frequency durability and micron-level mounting accuracy, allowing for precise focus changes and more flexible depth-of-field control.
X-tract lenses feature a parfocal design, locking focus while zooming.
Whether capturing subtle movements or rapidly changing the focal length, the focus remains sharp, delivering the classic Hitchcock dolly zoom effect, even in macro photography.
Note: Images captured with the 90° lens require Mirror Flip.

UNMATCHED PERFORMANCE BEYOND PRIMES
The X-tract series features native breath control, reducing breathing effects to just 0.5% on the 24mm lens (compared to 39.2% on other 24mm prime lenses).
Focus breathing becomes virtually imperceptible, minimizing the need for post-production adjustments. This ensures perfect visual continuity and stability during focus changes, providing immersive and spectacular cinematic visuals.
The X-tract's 0° probe zoom maintains a relative illumination of 70.7%, while the 90° probe zoom offers 68.6% (compared to 54.9% on other 24mm prime lenses), ensuring consistent brightness and delivering professional-grade visual performance.

360° PERISCOPE: PIVOTING INTO THE FUTURE
The X-tract 360° probe lens unlocks three shooting modes for creative flexibility:

  • Forward Mode (0°): The 30 cm probe axis moves in a 55 cm arc for smooth vertical shooting in tight spaces.
  • Oblique Mode (0-180°): Dual rotation rings allow adjustments of Dutch and horizon angles without loss of quality.

Rear Mode (180°): Foldable design with 360° rotation for dramatic "barrel roll" effects in confined areas.

ULTRA-MACRO, UNLOCKING A NEW WORLD
With a maximum magnification ratio of 2.1:1, X-tract reveals the complex textures of everyday objects and creates stunning, highly detailed visuals.
By capturing tiny objects such as insect wings, water droplets, grains of sand, and miniature items, he reveals microscopic structures that are often invisible to the naked eye.
The minimum focusing distance has been reduced from the traditional 56.3 cm (1'11") of probe lenses to 47.3 cm (1'6"), with a minimum working distance of just 6 mm (0.2"), allowing the lens to almost touch the subject for finer macro detail.

MODULAR SYSTEM FOR EASY DISASSEMBLY
The specially designed inter-lens mounting system provides exceptional flexibility for detachable kits, allowing for seamless transitions from pre-production to on-location shooting. It caters to diverse staff needs while offering expanded framing options.
A modular and detachable version is also available, offering greater flexibility and reliable support for creative workflows.
*Note: The detachable model cannot be upgraded to a full unit. The fixed model cannot be disassembled or exchanged.

MAXIMUM PROTECTION, READY FOR ANY CHALLENGE
Constructed from aerospace-grade aluminum alloy, the lens is lightweight and robust. A 25 μm anodized coating increases the hardness of the body, improving abrasion resistance and corrosion protection.
Tested in extreme temperatures from -30°C to 70°C, it ensures stability and durability in challenging shooting environments.
With an IP57 dust and water resistance rating, the lens barrel is waterproof to over 28 cm.
The front lens element features a hydrophobic anti-fog coating, reducing water build-up and fogging for consistently sharp images.

AGILE AND FLEXIBLE, FULLY CONTROLLABLE
Weighing just 1.09–1.14 kg, the 0° measures 41.5 cm long with a front diameter of 29.6 mm, the 90° measures 42.1 cm long, and the 360° periscope model has a 16 cm transverse arm and a 30 cm lens arm.
The periscope models share a 37.7 x 30.58 mm square front filter.
Compared to bulky macro setups, this slim tube design offers superior flexibility and adaptability.
The heavy-duty rear design shifts the balance of the lens closer to the camera body, making it easier to maintain stability whether handheld or using the gimbal, reducing shake and allowing for precise focus and zoom adjustments.
When used with robotic sliders or arms for wide-ranging movements, it offers superior control accuracy while minimizing post-production adjustments.

CINEMA STANDARD CRAFTSMANSHIP, ACCURATE AND RELIABLE
With a water immersion depth of 28 cm, a UV filter with a double-sided hydrophobic coating, and an O-shaped clamp, the lens ensures stability and versatility during challenging shoots.
The X-tract features a 360° swivel ring, ensuring perfect compatibility with professional cinema equipment and accessories.
Optional follow-focus accessories effectively manage rotational focus adjustments.
The rotating ring allows for easy adjustment of the lens angle, allowing for quick correction of the frame's horizontal alignment to ensure accurate composition.

Clear markings for magnification ratio, waterproof lines, and rotation scales on the lens barrel further enhance usability, giving filmmakers an intuitive and fluid shooting experience.
The native PL mount has rear elements that protrude just 1.37 cm from the mounting flange.
This short rear protrusion is compatible with DZOFILM Octopus and most PL-E/RF/LPL adapters and Speedboosters.
