Laowa Proteus 2x Anamorphic Zoom Series — the lightest, most compact, and affordable 2X anamorphic zoom lenses designed for S35 sensors are now available!
With a constant squeeze of 2x throughout the 3x zoom range at two focal lengths (26-45mm and 45-85mm), they weigh just 1.5kg and measure just 19cm, making them the lightest in their class.
Designed for effortless mobility, these compact lenses allow the wearer to shoot in tight spaces and reduce overall payload, giving filmmakers the freedom to move around without limitations.
With an impressive 45mm 2x anamorphic field of view, it supports close-up shots with a minimum focus distance of 50cm and offers elliptical bokeh along with unique flares in blue, amber and silver options.
Standard PL mounting, an interchangeable EF bayonet is included in the package.
A hard case is provided.
Imperial/Metric versions are available.

The Proteus 2x Anamorphic Zoom series offers a range of color options from classic sci-fi blue, warm and elegant amber and neutral silver flare.

The silver flare version adapts its colors based on the light source, providing a versatile flare effect.

CONSTANT TIGHTENING 2X
The Laowa Proteus Zooms maintain a constant 2x compression ratio, providing the iconic widescreen anamorphic look sought after in cinema.
Optimized for 4:3 and 6:5 sensors—common in professional cinema cameras—they produce a 2.66:1 or 2.4:1 image after decompression.
Filmmakers can use the entire image or crop to the industry-standard aspect ratio of 2.39:1 with minimal loss of resolution, ensuring maximum flexibility in post-production.
MINIMUM FOCUS CAPABILITY UP TO 50 CM/1'7"
The minimum focus distance of the 26-45mm is 50cm (1'7") and the 45-85mm is 90cm (2'11").
Filmmakers can create immersive close-ups while having the widescreen field of view.
1.4X EXPANDER COMPATIBLE
When used with the Laowa 1.4X Full-frame expander, the 26-45mm and 45-85mm T2.9 lenses can cover full-frame sensors and deliver stunning image quality.
SENSOR COVERAGE
Proteus zoom lenses have an image circle of Ø31.9 mm and offer perfect support for the use of cameras such as the RED V-Raptor in the 7K 6:5 aspect ratio and the Alexa 35 in the Open Gate 6:5 crop format.
ERGONOMIC AND INTELLIGENT CINEMA BOX
77mm Filter Thread – Allows for the attachment of filters and riser rings to matte box accessories.
Rear Focus Adjustment Mechanism – Rear focus calibration with the lens mounted directly on the camera, without going through a tedious shim process.
