Easy operation in vertical orientation

The VG-C4EM provides operating controls almost identical to those of the camera body. The location, size, and shape of the buttons are optimized, using the same material as the α9 II and α7R IV bodies. As a result, the function, location, and operational feel of the controls simulate those on the camera body, when the camera is held upright.

Firm and secure grip

The clever design of the handle allows you to hold the camera firmly. The Vertical Handle allows you to take photos with ease and fun, regardless of whether you hold the camera horizontally or vertically, making it easy to focus on your subject and composition.

Doubled effective operating life

The VG-C4EM can accommodate one or two NP-FZ100 batteries. When using two batteries, the camera will operate almost twice as long as it is using one battery. The remaining battery power is indicated on the LCD screen in 1% increments. When one battery expires, the camera automatically switches to the other, allowing continuous operation.

Reliable dust/moisture resistance

The camera attachment accessory has the same sealing material used on the camera body to keep out dust and moisture. This improves the overall reliability of the camera system.

Notice

Simultaneous installation of this unit with the LA-EA2/EA4 mount adapter is not supported. If both are installed at the same time, the narrow gap between the unit and the lens mount adapter makes it difficult to retain the grip.

Recharge batteries or supply power via USB

The batteries in the vertical handle can be recharged via the camera's USB port, without removing the camera handle. For extended recording sessions, it is possible to supply extra power directly to the camera via the camera's USB port using a mobile battery or AC adapter to supplement the battery power.

Lightweight and durable magnesium alloy body

The exterior of the VG-C4EM is made of the same magnesium alloy used in the α9 II and α7R IV bodies, providing the same rigidity as the cameras themselves while keeping weight and overall bulk to a minimum.
