With a resolution of 6144x3456, the 6K sensor is flexible enough for broadcast and digital cinema.
A 4K window of the sensor can be used for professional Ultra HD with B4 lenses.
And when switching to a PL or EF mount, you can use the sensor's full 6K resolution for digital cinema.
With 13 stops of dynamic range, blacks are darker and whites are brighter, which is perfect for color correction.

EXCELLENT LOW-LIGHT PERFORMANCE
The new URSA Broadcast offers incredible low-light performance so you can shoot in ambient light or even in moonlight.
In advanced cameras, ISO is a measurement of the image sensor's sensitivity to light.
Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2's gain ranges from -12 dB (ISO 100) to +36 dB (ISO 25,600), which means it's optimized to reduce grain and noise in images while maintaining the full dynamic range of the sensor.
The primary native ISO is 400, ideal for use under studio lighting.
The high base secondary ISO of 3200 is perfect in low-light environments.
Gain can be set with a switch on the camera, in the LCD menu, or remotely with the SDI remote camera control protocol.

COMPATIBLE WITH B4 PROFESSIONAL LENSES
URSA Broadcast G2 includes a B4 broadcast lens mount with an optical system specially designed to match the camera sensor.
The B4 mount allows you to use modern Ultra HD lenses or lower-cost HD lenses.
Older HD lenses often include resolutions beyond HD, so you get excellent quality at a low cost.
B4 lenses are fantastic because they are parfocal and keep the image in focus during zoom in and out so you don't have to constantly adjust the focus when shooting. This allows you to work much faster!
You also get full electronic lens control to adjust focus, iris and zoom using the camera controls or remotely.
And if you want to use other lenses, just change the mount to PL, EF, and more.

BUILT-IN OPTICAL ND FILTERS
URSA Broadcast G2 includes high quality neutral density (ND) filters to quickly reduce the amount of light entering the camera.
The ND 1/4, 1/16 and 1/64 stop filters have been specially designed to match the image sensor and color science of URSA Broadcast G2, giving you additional latitude and superior colorimetry.
This allows you to use different combinations of aperture and shutter angle in a wider variety of situations.
IR filters are designed to filter out optical and IR wavelengths, eliminating IR contamination.
In addition, the filter status on the LCD can be displayed as a fraction, number, or stop reduction .

USE COMMON MEDIA AND FILE FORMATS
URSA Broadcast is designed to work with standard file formats used by all professional systems and editing applications.
You can write ProRes 422 HQ and ProRes 422 to QuickTime files.
The new Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 model can even record in H.265 for incredibly small files with compression ratios from 60:1 to 285:1 and professional quality 10-bit.
You can still record in Blackmagic RAW, a revolutionary new format designed to capture and preserve the quality of your camera sensor data.
This gives you a variety of file formats that are perfect for all types of workflows.

DUAL MEDIA SLOTS FOR UNINTERRUPTED RECORDING
With dual recorders for CFast 2.0 and SD/UHS-II cards, you can choose the most suitable media.
Both media are standardized, affordable, and found in most camera and computer stores.
With dual media slots, URSA Broadcast gives you uninterrupted recording.
When one card is filled, recording automatically follows on to the next, so you can swap out a full card while recording continues.
There's enough speed to record high-quality ProRes and H.265 video file formats, even when working in Ultra HD at high frame rates.
So it's easy to integrate URSA Broadcast G2 into your existing workflows and broadcast systems.
You can even record cinematic 12-bit Blackmagic RAW files!

USB-C FOR DIRECT RECORDING TO EXTERNAL MEDIA DISCS
Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 has a high speed USB-C expansion port that allows you to record to external drives or connect a wide range of accessories.
By connecting a large , low-cost external USB flash drive, you can record ProRes, H.265 or even 12-bit Blackmagic RAW files in high quality for later editing and color correction.
Simply move the disk to a computer to get to work, without wasting time copying files.
In addition, the USB port will power the connected disk. You can even attach optional zoom and focus demands for full lens control.

LIGHTWEIGHT AND DURABLE MAGNESIUM DESIGN
URSA Broadcast G2 has a super strong, lightweight body made of magnesium alloy that's perfectly balanced and designed for comfortable all-day wear.
It includes common external switches and controls that give you direct access to the most important camera settings.
The logically arranged controls are easy to remember and locate by touch, so you can adjust the settings without having to look at the buttons.
There's also a hinged touchscreen for monitoring, viewing camera status, and adjusting settings with the on-screen menus.
URSA Broadcast G2 also includes standard 12G-SDI connections, XLR audio inputs, USB-C and a standard 4-pin XLR DC 12V broadcast connection.

INTEGRATED LCD WITH TOUCH CONTROLS
With a built-in fold-out LCD, you can monitor and control the camera.
While URSA Broadcast G2 has many physical buttons and knobs, when you use the LCD, you also get status and controls on the touch screen.
The built-in touchscreen also includes a heads-up display with the most important shooting information, as well as menus for all camera settings, LUTs, and custom presets.
There are also more buttons behind the LCD, as well as knobs for audio levels.
There are even programmable function buttons that can be configured as zebra, false color, focus peaking, LUTs and more.
It is even possible to change the function assigned to each button in the on-screen menus.

EXTERNAL STATUS DISPLAY
The status display is a high-visibility LCD screen designed to be easily seen, even in bright light.
The status display shows the recording time code, locked time code, and sync time code, with the current frame rate, shutter angle, aperture, white balance, gain, and iris.
It also includes a battery indicator, card recording status, and audio meters for monitoring levels.
Screen backlighting can be enabled in low-light locations, or disabled outdoors and in bright light to increase contrast, making it easier to read in any condition.

VIDEO MONITORING
When producing live, it is sometimes necessary to monitor the program video returning from the switcher.
Simply press the camera's PGM button and the viewfinder will switch from the camera display to the switcher's program return feed.
A built-in speaker also allows you to monitor the sound from the switcher.
Program feedback is a fantastic feature, as in large live programs, the cameramen can wait a long time to film.
The feature allows you to watch the show while they wait.
So even if the camera operator is too far away from the switcher, it will be possible to keep track of what's happening and stay alert.

CUSTOM 3D LUTS TO RECREATE MOVIE LOOKS
Digital film cameras shoot in a logarithmic color space to maintain dynamic range, which is excellent in post-production later on.
But, when these files are viewed on a monitor, they can appear discolored and washed out.
3D LUTs solve the problem because they allow you to apply a "look" to the monitor to get a sense of how the finished images will look during editing.
They can be applied temporarily for monitoring only, or they can be recorded with Blackmagic RAW files for use in post production.
URSA Broadcast G2 works with industry standard 17 and 33 point 3D LUT files, or you can work with the built-in LUTs such as Extended Video, Film to Video, Film to Rec.2020 and more.

TV INDUSTRY STANDARD CONNECTIONS
Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 includes the latest technology and connections such as 12G-SDI. It even integrates 12G-SDI connections both in the video output and in the input of the return feed of the program.
12G-SDI connections automatically switch between all HD and Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60.
Other connections include a headphone jack, USB-C, balanced XLR audio with phantom power, and timecode and sync input. There's also a front-facing 12-pin Hirose connector for powered professional lens control.
And for connecting a display or location monitor, there's also an HD-SDI monitoring output and a 4-pin XLR DC 12V power output.
PROFESSIONAL AUDIO CONNECTIONS AND INTERNAL MICROPHONES
URSA Broadcast G2 has a high quality microphone and a professional sound recorder built in so you don't have to carry around additional sound equipment!
So you can use the built-in stereo microphone or connect external microphones.
XLR connections have 48V phantom power so you can connect everything from shotgun microphones to wireless clip-on microphones.
You can also choose to plug the audio inputs into the camera to connect lavalier microphones, which usually only have a mono connection, if you want to record the microphone on both channels of the recording file.
URSA Broadcast G2 also includes knobs to adjust levels and on-screen meters, so you can regulate audio levels even with the camera mounted on your shoulder.

STUDIO CAMERA CONTROL BY SDI
All ATEM Blackmagic Design switchers can control cameras with a protocol built into the URSA Broadcast G2 SDI video connections.
Setup is easy as all ATEM switchers transmit control commands from the switcher's SDI program output to the camera via the SDI program input.
The switcher can perform color correction, tallying, and lens control, and send these commands to all cameras.
Just select the correct camera number and everything works. This means that someone can manage the color and gain of the image so that the camera operator is not distracted trying to adjust the camera and is free to focus or frame the shots.

WORK IN HD OR ULTRA HD
Not only is Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 a great Ultra HD camera, it's an amazing HD camera!
The high-resolution sensor and 5th generation color science generate incredible images with high dynamic range and wide color fidelity.
But when you need to work in HD, the camera will resize the image sensor to 1080HD video standards.
This helps you get stories to air quickly, in HD or Ultra HD video standards, from anywhere in the world.
In addition, when working in HD, the high-resolution sensor processes the image with sub-pixel precision for superior smoothing and sharpness.

CHANGE TO PL, EF, AND F LENS MOUNTS
URSA Broadcast G2 features an interchangeable lens mount to easily swap out the included B4 mount for an EF, PL or even F mount.
The URSA Broadcast G2 comes with a B4 mount already installed, and an additional EF mount is included.
Thus, if you are a beginner, you can change the fitting and use low-cost photographic lenses.
Photographic lenses have incredible quality, as they are developed for high-resolution photography.
It is also possible to purchase optional PL and F fittings separately.
If you're shooting for digital cinema, the PL mount is best as it's the most common for cinema lenses. With URSA Broadcast G2, you'll get a single camera that works with just about every lens today!

5TH GENERATION COLOR SCIENCE
With the same 5th generation color science as the cutting-edge URSA Mini Pro 12K, the new URSA Broadcast G2 delivers even more advanced image quality with accurate skin tones and true color in every shot.
You get a new 12-bit dynamic range curve designed to capture more color data in highlights and shadows, giving you better-looking images.
Color science also takes care of some of the complex image processing of Blackmagic RAW, so the sensor's color and dynamic range data is preserved through metadata that can be used in post-production.
This gives you images that have a natural, cinematic response to color adjustments made in post-production with DaVinci Resolve Studio.

BUILT-IN TIMECODE GENERATOR
All Blackmagic URSA Broadcast G2 models have a time of day timecode generator so you can sync all the cameras and do the multi-camera mount later, as all the recordings will have the same timecode.
Simply connect an external generator to the timecode BNC input and the camera will automatically detect the timecode and match the internal generator. Now, each camera will be able to start and stop recording, and all camera shots will have the timecode matched.
Imagine filming a music festival with multiple cameras!
Later, DaVinci Resolve's synchronized breakdown can be used to synchronize footage automatically and display it in a multi-view for easy editing.
FOCUS AND ZOOM COMMANDS
Optional Focus and Zoom Demands allow you to use photographic lenses in live production.
The focus and zoom commands have USB-C connections to control the lens via the camera's electronic lens control.
Each zoom and focus demand has 2 USB-C ports, so you can daisy-chain them and then plug them into the camera with a single USB connection.
The design offers an extremely precise feel, so you get accurate lens control, so you can frame and adjust the lens without taking your hands off the tripod handles.
The buttons are customizable so you can program different camera functions.
Hardware for mounting focus and zoom demands on tripod handles is also included.

ADD VIEWFINDERS, SMPTE FIBER, AND LENS MOUNTS
There's a wide variety of accessories specially designed to work perfectly with URSA Broadcast G2.
But, a shoulder-mount kit, V-Lock battery plate, and a top strap are included so you don't have to purchase anything extra.
If you don't have a B4 lens, there's an additional EF lens mount so you can start by using a photographic lens if you wish.
You can add the optional Blackmagic URSA Viewfinder, or for live production, add a Blackmagic URSA Studio Viewfinder.
There's also an optional fiber converter that can power the camera up to 2km away with a single SMPTE fiber cable.
For long duration recordings, URSA Mini Recorder gives you the option to record to external SSDs .
RECORD TO SSD AND U.2 MEDIA
The optional Blackmagic URSA Mini Recorder lets you record files on fast 2.5" SSDs, including the latest U.2 NVMe Enterprise SSDs.
SSDs like the 7mm U.2 NVMe drives are super-fast, offering data transfer speeds of up to 900MB/s!
This impressive performance allows for longer recording times for 12-bit Blackmagic RAW files at full resolution 4K and 6K with higher quality Q0 encoding.
The original design of the Blackmagic URSA Mini Recorder makes it possible to fit directly on the back of your URSA Broadcast G2 between the camera and the battery.
