Rode's Stereo VideoMic Pro Rycote builds on the success of the Stereo VideoMic Pro with a few improvements, such as the Rycote Lyre suspension system, higher sensitivity X/Y pods, denser foam wind shield, better RF shielding, and a thicker Kevlar braided cable. The microphone retains all switch locations and other features from the previous model, for use as a camera microphone in DSLR cameras and camcorders for video applications.
The integrated Rycote Lyre suspension system protects against handling noise. The Stereo VideoMic features a high-pass filter at 75 Hz to minimize low-frequency noise and a -10 dB attenuator to maximize the gain margin, allowing you to pick up high signals without distortion. The +20 dB level boost button is specifically designed to provide a higher quality signal with cameras. When activated, the camera's preamp level is reduced, resulting in a lower noise level and much clearer recording.
