TASCAM TM-AR1 Acoustic Control Filter
TASCAM's Acoustic Control Filter is a filter that helps you get a dry sound from your microphone for recording.
It absorbs sound that would normally be reflected off the walls of your room and back into your microphone, while preventing ambient noise from reaching the back and sides of the microphone.
The result is a much drier and clearer sound that can be processed more easily.
SOUND ABSORPTION BY SOFT-SHAPED PADS AND METAL PANELS
The TM-AR1 consists of five panels.
All of these panels have the same structure, with several oval mounting holes and the sound-absorbing foam in the shape of small pyramids.
In particular, the sound-absorbing foam used is the same as that found in professional recording studios and rooms where acoustics need to be controlled.
The soft foam has a specially molded shape that reduces the propagation of external sounds as soon as they reach the panels.
Sounds coming from outside are either reflected by the panel or absorbed by the sound-absorbing material.
EASY STORAGE AND ADJUSTMENT DESIGN
Composed of 5 panels, it can be easily folded from both sides to save space when not in use.
You can also adjust the positions of the panel while recording.
Each side of the panels can be narrowed to achieve the dry sound.
On the other hand, if the panel is wide open, it will absorb more reflections that can affect the sound.
Therefore, the sound quality is determined by the angle adjustments of the control filter.
DUAL BRACKETS FOR BETTER STABILITY
With two microphone stands, the TM-AR1 can be installed on both stands using the stands on the back of the unit.
With a microphone stand, the included stand bar and slider bar can be used with the microphone.
The use of two microphone stands is recommended for better stability and flexibility.
FLEXIBLE MICROPHONE LAYOUT
The microphone position can be easily adjusted by the slider bar.
It also has two support bars included to adjust the height of the microphone.
You can use either, depending on the microphone sizes and the ShockMount mount.
If the microphone sticks out of the panel when using the long support bar, switch to the short one.
5/8" – 3/8" CONVERSION ADAPTER INCLUDED
To conform to a variety of microphone stands, the TM-AR1 comes with a 5/8" - 3/8" thread conversion adapter.
Use the proper adapter according to the microphone stand.
