Improved battery and fast charging
When used with the BG33 battery grip, the RS 5 gimbal can be fully charged in just one hour using a 65W PD charger. It offers 14 hours of battery life, 15% more than the RS 4, or up to 30 hours when used with a BG70 battery grip.
Smart Tracking Module
Easily attached via a magnetic mount, the included module offers intelligent framing and tracking with a single touch. Tracking features include up to 10-meter range, gesture and gimbal control, as well as orbit, POV/selfie, and reverse tracking modes.
Self-locking OLED display
The RS 5 is equipped with a fixed OLED touchscreen with a new auto-lock feature. Once locked, the screen will display the current gimbal and joystick movements with low brightness to prevent accidental swaps and save battery life.
Suitcase Control Handle
This RS 5 kit includes a case-style handle that offers intuitive control and additional support for one-handed operation. This wireless grip connects to the gimbal's RSA/NATO port, allowing direct control of the gimbal and camera on select models, including FUJIFILM and Panasonic.
Second-generation quick-release plate design
With the well-known double-layer quick-release plates from its predecessor, the RS 5 makes it easy to mount and balance your camera. The horizontal plate has been redesigned for faster transitions to native vertical recording. A fine-tuning knob adjusts the tilt axis to move your camera forward or backward. The top plate has additional positioning guides for secure camera mounting.

Second Generation Automatic Axle Lock
When the gimbal is off, you can press and hold the power button, and the three axes will unlock while the gimbal expands automatically, allowing you to get to work in just two seconds. Press the power button once, and the shafts will automatically lock and enter standby mode, making movement or storage significantly more efficient. The second iteration of this design created smaller clearances when locked to further reduce gimbal vibration.
RSA Communication Port
The RSA communication port allows you to integrate Ronin series accessories into your gimbal setup. Add Ronin-specific or third-party accessories with control capabilities to switch between different shooting settings. The DJI RS SDK protocol will allow third-party manufacturers and other programmers to create custom functions for RS 5 in the future.
Wireless shutter control
By implementing dual-mode Bluetooth, the RS 5 supports wireless shutter control, saving time and effort with each use. After the initial Bluetooth pairing, you can control video and photo recording by simply pressing the record button on the gimbal Previously paired cameras can automatically reconnect after first use, eliminating the need for a camera control cable. Compatible cameras include select models from FUJIFILM and Panasonic.
Integrated monitoring and control
Remotely adjust the camera's exposure directly in the Ronin app or control the gimbal with the virtual joystick for a seamless monitoring and control experience. With the Ronin Image Transmitter, a smartphone can be used as a motion controller to remotely control the RS 5 gimbal, allowing for more flexible and dynamic camera movements.
Integrated Controls
With a simple swipe of the gimbal's new mode switch, you can switch between Pan Follow, Pan and Tilt Follow and FPV modes. The FPV mode selection is also customizable for 3D Roll 360, Portrait or Custom, allowing you to adjust your rig and get up and running as soon as possible. Other smart features include motion-lapse, tracking, and panorama. The shutter button can be customized for FPV mode, which makes the three axes follow the direction of the grip's movement when pressed.
