The SmallRig Cage Kit for Sony FX2 5589 is masterfully designed to offer comprehensive protection and numerous mounting options, as well as improve the comfort of the XLR grip. This kit includes a cage, a top plate, an extender for the XLR strap, a wrist strap, a fastener for the HDMI cable and an Allen wrench.
With precise cutouts, the cage ensures that the tilting viewfinder, buttons and camera ports remain fully accessible for seamless operation. The XLR Grip Extension Stand increases comfort with an expanded footprint area and features built-in 1/4"-20 threaded holes for attaching monitor stands and other accessories.
The removable top plate features a NATO rail, accommodating Sony's XLR top handle or SmallRig's swivel top handle without interfering with the viewfinder. The cage incorporates multiple mounting points, including 1/4"-20 threaded holes, 3/8"-16 ARRI locating holes, and a NATO "HawkLock" rail for quick attachment of accessories such as side handles and top handles. A cold shoe mount allows for the attachment of devices such as the DJI Mic 2 or LED lights, while a QD socket on the base accommodates shoulder straps for added portability. The base is also equipped with a magnetic Allen key, facilitating quick assembly and disassembly.
The lower quick-release plate, combined with the "HawkLock" H38 bracket The Arca-Swiss quick-release mounting plate allows for a quick snap-on by sliding with an automatic locking mechanism. It also allows for smooth transitions between handheld, tripod, and gimbal configurations (compatible with DJI RS 2 / RSC 2 / RS 3 / RS 3 Pro / RS 4 / RS 4 Pro stabilizers). In addition, an included HDMI cable clamp secures the cable for stable data transmission.
