Harman Red 125 arrives as a special film dedicated to redscale enthusiasts. By exposing your image through the base, red-sensitive layer of the film, the results deliver stunning shades of red, orange and yellow, while removing almost all shades of blue and embracing prominent, pronounced shadows. This 35mm film offers an average ISO speed of 125, a clear base, no anti-halation layers, and high red sensitivity for a near-perfect emulsion that ensures minimal speed loss.
Exposure
Overexposure will usually give finer graininess and more dominant orange and red tones. The underexposure will show more greens, thicker grain, and prominent shadows:
Underexposure – Coarser grain, prominent shadows, and subtle greens.
Normal exposure – Normal grain, stronger orange tones, and softer shadows.
Overexposure – Finer grain, higher contrast and dominant red/orange hues.
Digitisation
Harman Red is to be processed into C41/CN16 processing chemicals. No processing adjustment is required for bracketed exposures.
Unlike standard color films, the emulsion layer on redscale films is on the reverse. Therefore, for best results, when the orientation of the emulsion can be easily reversed using a refillable cartridge if necessary.
It can be easily scanned on a variety of commercial scanners.
With other C41 process films, Digital Image Correction and Enhancement (Digital ICE) can be used to automatically remove dust and scratches from the image.
