HARMAN Phoenix 200 is an experimental ISO 200 film, C41 process, color negative with high contrast and strong visible grain. It can be used for any photographic subject, with results dependent on ambient lighting conditions, palette color and exposure accuracy. The best results are typically obtained outdoors with light and glare scenes.
The high contrast of the HARMAN Phoenix can lead to vibrant and vigorous scene reproduction, even under softer lighting, although colors and contrast can be controlled depending on the scanner and the processes used in developing. It is advisable to adjust the default scanning parameters for the best results.
HARMAN Phoenix 200 is easily processed into C41 processing chemicals and can be exposed in the EI range 100 – 400. The best overall results are obtained in EI 200, however, the highlight control can be improved at 0.5 – 1 stop underexposure depending on the scene.
HARMAN Phoenix 200 film is available in ISO 200 DX encoded cassettes with 36 exposures and is suitable for all 35mm film cameras.
WHY HARMAN PHOENIX 200 IS DIFFERENT:
HARMAN Phoenix 200 is an experimental C41 color film and the first made by HARMAN Photo. As such, it has characteristics that make it very different from the more traditional and established C41 color negative films. This film has no masking dyes and has an anti-halation backing built into the base layer. This means that the impressive halo effects around bright light, sources and reflections are possible. In addition to its atypical color reproduction, this film has a distinctly analog-looking feature when shooting certain scenes and color palettes.
