THE WORLD'S FIRST PARTIALLY STACKED CMOS SENSOR* The Z6III's partially stacked sensor is much more than the sum of its 24.5 megapixels. It's designed so that this full-frame camera has it all and remains compact, and it does it in every way. This partially stacked full-frame CMOS sensor, with the power of EXPEED 7, delivers incredible image quality with amazing dynamic range and colour fidelity. Phenomenal sensor analysis speeds and ultra-fast data readout deliver dizzying AF calculations that are on par with the Z8 and Z9. In addition, they counteract rolling shutter distortion and enable EVF refresh rates of 60 fps during continuous shooting at 20 fps. Do you create portraits? Intelligent noise reduction translates into remarkably detailed JPEG and HEIF files, even if shooting at high ISO. Do you photograph fast-moving wildlife? Your vision of the action is fluid and your images will be magnificent. * Among full-frame/FX-format mirrorless cameras as of June 17 , 2024. Based on Nikon research.
FLAGSHIP AF FEATURES YOU CAN TRUST. ALWAYS. No matter how they move, the Z6III mirrorless camera grips the subject like a limpet. Iconic autofocus functions give you reliable and constant subject acquisition and tracking, even in the dark. Very fast AF calculations, on par with the Z8 and Z9, deliver incredible accuracy at high shooting speeds, while deep learning technology underpins the impressive subject detection function in Auto-Area AF and Manual Focus, or when using Auto Capture. There are also specific subject detection modes for people and animals: eye tracking is incredible, even when the subject is extremely small in the frame. If you shoot when daylight fades, before the sun goes down, or into the night, AF sensitivity down to -10 EV* lets you keep shooting longer. If you're going out in bright conditions, the camera's sensor-specific AF pixels keep faces in focus even if they're in shadow or backlight. If you use a shallow depth of field to shoot still subjects or interior or landscape details, the localized AF point provides a very small and accurate AF point. You can set the exact point of focus, even on the most delicate elements of your frame. *AF sensitivity down to -10 EV. Measured in 100 ISO shooting mode and a temperature of 20°C with Single Servo AF (AF-S) and a lens with a maximum aperture of f/1.2.
SUPPORTED BY AN INTELLIGENT LENS SYSTEM Spark your creativity. The possibilities of what you can create in-camera with the Z6III and a NIKKOR Z lens are endless. For wildlife and action enthusiasts, the S-Line super-telephoto lenses will allow you to shoot comfortably handheld with all the clarity and beautiful bokeh that only an S-line prime lens can offer. The NIKKOR Z 600mm f/6.3 VR S and NIKKOR Z 400mm f/4.5 VR S are incredibly light, and combined with the Z6III's powerful in-camera Shake Reduction image stabilisation, you can leave your tripod or monopod at home. For portraiture and fine art, Nikon's coveted range of bright S-line prime lenses allow you to portray subjects in bold new ways. The exquisite NIKKOR Z 135mm f/1.8 S Plena offers perfectly circular background and foreground bokeh. Impressive clarity, sharpness and bokeh are also hallmarks of the NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.2 S and NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.2 S lenses, both of which are as exciting for filming as they are for stills. To keep your creative juices undeterred, Nikon's trio of f/2.8 zoom lenses and wide range of f/1.8 prime lenses deliver impressive low-light performance. All NIKKOR Z lenses have a similar layout and controls, so you just have to pick them up and use them, and some selected Z lenses offer linear focusing for videographers. You can also use the MC-N10 remote control grip (optional) to make focus adjustments without clicking while recording. If F-mount lenses are your thing, the FTZ II mount adapter (sold separately) lets you use approximately 360 classic Nikon lenses with the same image quality. The adapter itself is completely airtight and its aerodynamic design allows you to shoot comfortably in any orientation, making it the perfect bridge to the compact Z6III full-frame mirrorless camera.
A TOUGH BUILD FOR ALL YOUR CREATIVE ADVENTURES Small but sturdy. Perfectly lightweight, yet incredibly durable. Weighing just 750g, the Z6III full-frame camera is built to travel and is designed to take on the elements. Both the body and the battery operate at temperatures as low as -10 ºC, which makes it totally possible to go into winter places in search of the perfect catch of a wild animal. You can also include rainy and dusty places in your itinerary, because premium weather insulation protects the MB-N14 battery camera and grip. Bumps and drops are not a problem for the Z6III. When the camera is turned off, a VR lock is activated to prevent accidental damage to the image sensor. In addition, the magnesium alloy front cover makes the camera lightweight, while also being incredibly impact-resistant. It's not just the front of this full-frame mirrorless camera that serves as protection. The top and back plates are made from lightweight Sereeboã P Series carbon fiber, a high-performance, high-strength injection-molded material that has the same structural strength as magnesium.
NIKON'S RENOWNED ERGONOMICS AND CUSTOMISATION Responsiveness that is noticeable. A control arrangement so well thought out you won't have to think. The Z6III full-frame mirrorless camera paves the way for total freedom of action. Customisation inherited from the Nikon Z8 and Z9 cameras includes the ability to assign different AF area modes to customised buttons: you can switch AF modes on the fly, whenever the situation calls for it. For viewfinder shooting, the Fn touch function allows you to assign different functions — including the focus point — to the high-resolution multi-angle touchscreen. With your eye on the viewfinder, you can move the focus point quickly and easily with a flick of your thumb. If you like to hear a confirmation sound when you shoot, the Z6III is happy to offer you simulated shutter sounds that confirm you're shooting, even if the mechanical shutter is off. You can choose from five custom shutter sounds, including some inspired by classic Nikon DSLRs, film cameras and rangefinders. It has different viewing interfaces for filming and stills. In addition, the Z6III's stylized body still has room for two card slots, giving you options when it comes to shooting and storing. One slot supports high-performance CFexpress Type B cards or XQD cards, and the other supports UHS-II SD cards.
FILMING Born to boost creativity. Designed to improve productivity. The Z6III full-frame camera will become part of the way you move and flow as a filmmaker. Discover the freedom to harness your talent. Immediately.
MASTER THE ART OF MOVEMENT Don't let its size fool you: the Z6III's 24.5MP partially stacked sensor offers performance that easily surpasses that of the Z6II. You can shoot at 120 fps (10 MP DX-format JPEG) or 60 fps (24 MP full-frame JPEG) without worrying about rolling shutter distortion. Full pixel readout maintains dynamic range, so you can even crop the image without compromising on the level of detail.
8-STOP VR WITH FOCUS POINT STABILIZATION Incredible 8.0-stop in-camera image stabilisation2 gives you the freedom to take super-sharp handheld shots, even at night. If you use a NIKKOR Z lens without built-in VR, focus point VR3 will stabilize the area around the active focus point, regardless of where you are in the frame; It's a whole revolution for creative wide-angle compositions.
FOCUS IN THE DARKNESS WITH AN AF OF UP TO -10EV From opportunistic captures to creative location decisions, the Z6III opens the door to places — and moments — in which you can create. Low-light AF down to -10 EV allows the camera to detect faces and eyes in darkness: you won't even need the light of the new moon to shoot. And for handheld night shooting, the native ISO range ranges from 100 to 64,000 (extendable to 50-204,800 ).
MESMERIZE WITH PIXEL SHIFT If you've always wanted to explore ultra high resolution photography, this is your chance! Activate Pixel Shift on the Z6III and you can merge multiple RAW files into a single 96-megapixel image with spectacular colour and low noise. You'll get the best results if you shoot still subjects with your camera on a tripod. Simply use Nikon's free NX Studio software to combine the files.
