A compact powerhouse for discovery and fun
A powerful and compact mirrorless system made for budding creators, the Nikon Z50 II mirrorless camera combines a 20.9MP APS-C CMOS sensor and an interchangeable lens mount with a host of key features and compatibility with the entire NIKKOR Z lens lineup to elevate your content beyond your smartphone.

20.9MP DX-format CMOS sensor and EXPEED 7 image processor
The 20.9 MP DX-format CMOS sensor is combined with the same EXPEED 7 image processing engine found in its flagship full-frame siblings to provide a versatile combination of high sensitivity, differentiated image quality, fast AI-powered autofocus, and continuous shooting at maximum resolution up to 30 fps. At native values, a sensitivity range of ISO 100 to 51200 allows it to work in a wide range of lighting conditions and can be expanded up to ISO 204800 for extreme low-light conditions. The combination of resolution and sensor size also contributes to crisp image quality and smooth color transitions with reduced noise throughout the sensitivity range.

Nikon's most advanced autofocus
Utilizing legacy algorithms and deep learning technology from the Z9, including sophisticated Object Detection for nine different types of objects, the Z50 II recognizes a variety of distinct types of objects, from humans to animals, airplanes and bicycles. The popular dedicated Bird Detection mode is also available. When working with Auto Area AF, these subjects will be automatically detected, focused, and tracked to ensure sharp focus when the subject is moving through the frame.
Eye Detection AF, specifically, has been tuned for greater accuracy and refined eye recognition in the scene, and can also be used in conjunction with Custom Wide-Area AF for different object shapes and sizes.

Pre-release capture
The EXPEED 7 processor also unlocks Pre-Shot Capture, a feature that makes it easy to capture decisive moments by shooting frames in sequence for up to a second before actually releasing the shutter. When this feature is enabled, burst shooting begins when the shutter is half-pressed, and the buffer holds the frames after you press it fully.

UHD 4K video recording.
Capable of shooting more than just stills, the Z50 II has also enhanced its video capture capabilities, now with support for 4K UHD video recording up to 60fps and Full HD recording up to 120fps, as well as a Product Review mode, recording time limits of up to two hours, a video timer feature, built-in electronic Vibration Reduction, and the ability to save video files to the camera's memory cards or an optional external recorder via HDMI output. In-camera time-lapse recording is also possible, with the ability to output a finished 4K UHD video file directly from the camera. For the first time at Nikon, the Z50 II is UAC and UAV compatible for live streaming over the web. In addition, you can now record 10-bit video internally with Nikon's N-Log LUT and use four new RED LUTs.

Color Control for Creators
Nikon has added a Picture Control button on the top of the Z50 II to access its 31 built-in presets, even in Auto mode. Colour presets can now be overlaid on the rear LCD screen, allowing you to see colour changes as you shoot. Creation Recipes developed by other Nikon photographers are available in the Nikon Imaging Cloud and can be downloaded and integrated into the presets. In addition, Nikon offers an annual subscription to Cloud Picture Controls software, allowing you to use your own presets with professional editing tools.

Structure and Connectivity
A large 3.2" LCD touchscreen is available for bright, crisp and vivid image reproduction, as well as live view shooting. The screen has a 180° tiltable design, making it easy to capture selfies with the camera facing you and providing more intuitive operation, navigation and control of settings. The updated touchscreen now includes the Touch FN function, allowing you to select the focus point with your fingertips.
The improved electronic viewfinder has been redesigned to offer greater viewing comfort at eye level. Using NIKKOR optics to ensure a crisp and clear image, it is now twice as bright as its predecessor.
A built-in flash and hot shoe allow additional light to be introduced into low-light scenes, with a dedicated Night Portrait mode that optimises exposure by balancing ambient light and additional light.
A headphone jack has been added, which also acts as a terminal for Nikon's new MC-DC3 Remote Release Cable (optional). The USB-C port allows charging and powering of the camera via USB. The camera retains the microphone and HDMI inputs present in its predecessor.
Built-in SnapBridge connectivity enables smooth transfer of low-resolution images, as well as remote shooting capabilities. BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) and Wi-Fi technologies enable communication between the camera and a smart device, allowing the user to trigger the shutter remotely and view a live image from the camera for remote operations.
The included EN-EL25a rechargeable lithium-ion battery extends the camera's runtime, with support for direct-to-camera charging.
The single SD memory card slot is compatible with the UHS-II protocol, offering fast storage for photo and video files.
