IGMP ESPIONAGE
When Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) spying is enabled, the DGS-105 listens to IGMP conversations between hosts and routers and maintains a map of which links need IP multicast streams, resulting in higher efficiency and smoother performance.
Any links that don't need multicast can be filtered, so you're always in control of which ports specifically receive multicast traffic.

This switch saves energy and reduces heat, which in turn extends the life of the product without sacrificing performance or functionality.
The switch supports IEEE 802.3az Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE), which can detect when a connected computer is powered off or when there is no Ethernet traffic, and will continue to shut down the idle port, saving a substantial amount of power.
In addition, the switch can also save power by detecting the length of the cable connected to a port and using only the power it needs.
Both features work together to help you save power automatically.
