SIGMA AF 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN Contemporary L-Mount
Ideal for a wide range of photo and video applications, including landscapes, portraits, street photography, architecture, and events. Sigma's Contemporary 18-50mm f/2.8 DC DN lens is small and lightweight with standard crop-sensor zoom for mirrorless cameras. The standard zoom lens is designed for Sony E-mount APS-C format cameras and offers a focal length range equivalent to 27-75mm and a wide f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range, making it suitable for working in low-light conditions and offering greater control over the focus position when using shallow depth-of-field techniques.
The design of this objective includes three aspherical elements molded from high-precision glass, along with a special low-dispersion element. Together, they minimize the total number of elements for excellent optical quality without excessive weight. The autofocus is exceptionally fast and quiet thanks to the lens's stepping motor, which can be particularly useful when shooting videos or fast-moving objects such as children and animals. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of just 4.8", allowing it to be used for macro-style close-up photography, and is also equipped with a rounded seven-blade diaphragm for pleasing bokeh quality.
Three aspherical elements molded from high-precision glass are used to help limit spherical distortions and contribute to greater overall sharpness and accurate rendering.
The special low dispersion (SLD) element reduces chromatic distortions and color scattering.
Super Multi-Layer Coating minimizes reflections to improve contrast and color accuracy when working in bright lighting conditions.
In-camera distortion correction further eliminates optical imperfections such as distortion and vignetting.
Stepping motor with near-silent autofocus that makes it perfectly suited for a variety of photographic applications, including shooting in quiet environments, recording videos, and capturing fast-moving subjects.
The minimum focusing distance of 4.8" and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:2.8 benefits when working with close objects.
