The lens, consisting of 20 lens elements confined to 13 groups, includes a large number of ultra-low dispersion aspherical components that eliminate virtually all diffraction, ensuring the best photographic quality. The advanced construction of the new telephoto system delivers the highest quality, allowing a Lumix lens to once again achieve LEICA's recognised standard of quality.

With its sleek design and metallic black finishes, Panasonic's new 100,400mm LEICA DG VARIO-ELMAR lens delivers perfect images throughout the zoom range. Its 200-800mm focal length (35mm equivalent) and 0.5x magnification allow you to shoot in full detail from any distance; At the same time, it combines perfectly with a surprising close-up capability that makes it ideal for shooting subjects of any shape or size.  

Aiming to capture a stable image without vibration of any kind throughout the zoom range, the lens features an enhanced optical image stabilization system, Power O.I.S, which exerts perfect control over any image movement and ensures that photos are taken with unparalleled clarity and precision.

The 100-400mm lens allows for a wide variety of shooting styles, while its nine-blade diaphragm provides a perfect circular aperture for a smooth, balanced distribution of depth of field.

Lighter and smaller than other telephoto and zoom lenses

Compared to conventional DSLR telephoto lenses, this new LUMIX G is lightweight and small in size, so it offers perfect mobility. In this way, it is ideal for travel and to be transported without the need to move with heavy equipment. At the same time, the fact that it is compact and resistant ensures its longevity, since there is no need to worry about protecting the lens from dust particles or moisture that could damage it.

The lens comes with a handy and compact two-piece tripod mount that makes it even easier to handle, allowing you to quickly switch from landscape to vertical format and vice versa, while the Power O.I.S. image stabilization control, focus limiter and manual focus switch remain conveniently at your fingertips. with no movement with each change of position, which can be achieved quickly and easily at 90º angles.

The lens also features a sunshade-like device that allows you to capture the perfect image in any lighting condition, without having to worry about stray light coming in.

Astonishing 4K video capability

Due to its materials, which ensure the best colors and good light contrast, Panasonic's new LEICA lens is perfect for 4K video recording. Telephoto and zoom functionality is ensured by Panasonic's high-speed, reliable AF 240 fps focus motor, whose quiet design allows you to shoot at surprisingly close distances to the lens without drawing attention.

In addition to shooting high-resolution video, the lens's 4K capability allows you to take photos with unique precision. Panasonic's Photo 4K function offered by LUMIX cameras, namely the LUMIX G7, allows you to extract an 8-megapixel still image from a 4K video (30fps) directly from the camera screen with just a simple touch.
