In a feat of engineering, the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/2.8 S II is the first 24-70mm professional lens to feature an internal zoom, and is also the lightest lens in its class.1 Weighing just 675g, this super-versatile lens is now more stable and easier to handle, thanks to a barrel that does not extend or retract when changing focal lengths.
Versatile, stable, robust
The internal zoom maximises the versatility of this 24-70mm lens magnificently. Weather protection is robust and fewer moving parts are exposed to the elements, so you can confidently go wherever history takes you, without worrying about your gear. And there's no change in weight: you can zoom in without having to adjust your grip — and the lens barrel doesn't extend or interfere with your close-up shots.
Flexible with a stabilizer
If you're shooting with a gimbal The center of gravity remains consistent and shots don't miss the subject.
Compatible with accessories
Because the lens barrel does not extend or retract, accessories such as matte housings or large front-mounted filters remain fixed in place when zooming in. It is not necessary to reposition them during filming.
No imbalances ahead
Balance is maintained even if heavy external shooting accessories are attached to the front of this lens. And when the equipment stays balanced, shots remain smooth.
Minimising focus shift
With focus shift halved compared to the previous generation of this zoom lens, transitions couldn't look more natural. Even during extreme focus changes, the angle of view does not change.
New S-line optical design
Fewer elements are used to greater effect in an optical design that features double-sided aspherical lens elements and ED glass. Image quality is excellent and the lens is lighter.
Custom coatings
You can shoot into the light without worrying about flare or ghosting, thanks to mesoamorph and ARNEO anti-reflective coatings, as well as custom multi-layer Super Integrated coatings.
Multifocus system
Multiple lens groups move in precise synchronization for ultra-precise AF and maximum optical performance.
SSVCM
This is the first Nikon zoom lens to incorporate the Silky Swift Voice Coil Motor (SSVCM). For incredibly fast and accurate AF performance.

A new 11-blade aperture produces more circular bokeh, while the new optical design of the S-line ensures that point light sources such as stars and city lights are sharp and clear. Together with the constant f/2.8 aperture and close focusing capability of this professional zoom lens, you can shoot cinematic close-ups in any light. Or opt for nightscapes and mesmerizing low-light landscapes.
It's not macro, but it comes close
Work with an extremely short minimum focusing distance of just 0.24m at 24mm and 0.33m at 70mm. The maximum magnification is 0.21x at 24 mm and 0.32x at 70 mm.
