The attenuation of light at the periphery is controlled to preserve brightness throughout the frame. This results in sharpness from the centre to the periphery, vivid colours and deep contrasts.
Realism
Superior reproduction of point light sources, such as night street lighting, is achieved by reducing sagittal coma aberration to a minimum. Point light sources are reproduced as small rounded dots, even at the periphery of the image.

Take control
The knurled control ring ensures admirably precise and intuitive use. When shooting in AF mode, exposure compensation parameters can be assigned to the control ring. In manual mode, this ring can be used as a focus ring. Focus shifts depending on how fast the ring is rotated, allowing precise control over the focus point.
Small, sturdy and lightweight body
With a retractable lens mechanism, this full-image ultra-wide-angle zoom lens takes up very little space when not in use. All moving parts of the lens barrel are sealed, providing protection from dust and water droplets. The fluorine coating actively repels water, dust and dirt, without compromising image quality.
