When you can only take one lens
From extremely close to incredibly far, the focus will be accurate. AF performance is fast, accurate, and exceptionally quiet. Whether with birds or planes, tracking is rock stable when used in conjunction with Nikon Z mirrorless cameras that incorporate AF modes for animals or vehicles. The lens's exceptional resolution is maintained even when used with a teleconverter.
Clear at any distance
Sharpness is superb throughout the frame. Nikon's ED and Super ED glass controls chromatic aberration from the center to the periphery of the image, even when shooting at maximum aperture or close range.
Always focused
Powerful VR performance, equivalent to 5.5 stops, lets you shoot handheld at slower shutter speeds without sacrificing sharpness. The minimum focusing distance is just 0.75 m at the wide-angle end of the zoom range and 0.98 m at its maximum extension.
