The advanced optical design with 2 AA elements is supported by a refined mechanical system, in a 373 g G Lens. The small size and light weight improve mobility with E-mount bodies and create a balanced system, ideal for use with gimbal holders or accessories such as handles. The FE 20mm F1.8 G is a versatile lens for many types of photography and video.
Smooth bokeh with a natural look
In addition to precise spherical aberration control, which has a significant influence on bokeh quality, the FE 20mm F1.8 G has a 9-blade circular aperture that contributes to smooth, natural-looking bokeh that is characteristic of the G Lens series.
Spot light sources with realistic rendering
The two AA (advanced aspherical) elements and the three ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements minimize sagittal glare so that point light sources can be reproduced sharply without color aberration.

The 2 XD (eXtreme Dynamic) Linear Motors adjust to the most advanced features, taking full advantage of the potential of autofocus speed, precision and tracking to capture more dynamic subjects. New control algorithms make it possible to manage the lens's wide focus group without delay for responsive, quiet, low-vibration autofocus.
Excellent foreground performance, even for selfies
In addition to the fact that 20mm is an excellent focal length for selfies, this lens has a minimum blur distance of just 0.19 metres when used in AF mode, and a minimum focusing distance of 0.18 metres when hand-focused. It is an excellent choice for gimbals/grip mounts, whether for selfies or other objects.
Easy operation and high reliability in a compact lens
The Fog Hold Button, Fog Mode Switch, Aperture Ring and others are designed and positioned for easy camera operation. Alternative functions for individual needs can be assigned to the focus hold button in the settings in the body menu. The front lens element is fluorine-coated to repel water and dirt, and the lens is dust and moistureresistant2 and provides the reliability needed for outdoor use.
