Inheriting the renowned image quality of the original Samyang VDSLR series, the updated MK2 series has been developed to offer an essential set of cinema lenses for videographers.
The compact size of Samyang's VDSLR lenses makes them perfect for handheld or gimbal shooting. The 14mm model is only 9.6 cm wide and weighs 650.2 g. In contrast to their diminutive form factor, these lenses cover full-frame sensors and are ready for creating high-quality videos.
Despite their size, the lenses incorporate all functions with focus and aperture adjustment rings with a de-clicked system. The long focus ring travel of more than 130° allows you to focus more accurately on subjects, creating a more professional feel for your footage than with autofocus lenses.
The VDSLR 14mm T3.1 MK2 has 4 types of special lenses. An aspherical lens is used to reduce optical and spherical aberrations, producing clear and sharp images, while 3 other types of lenses, high refraction, aspherical-hybrid and extra-low dispersion, complete its constitution.
For independent filmmakers, a versatile lens saves time and budget. The Samyang VDSLR MK2 series offers large apertures, which helps to unleash creativity with high image quality, even in low-light situations. Additionally, the shallow depth of field available blurs the background and enhances the subject, adding more intimacy to the story.
Unique, smooth, circular bokeh is made possible by the lenses' 9-blade diaphragm, enabling three-dimensional image quality and a pleasing blur effect. It is also possible to create reflections of 18-point stars using the smaller apertures.
The new VDSLR MK2 series is fully weather-sealed to protect the most vulnerable gap between the lens and the camera's bayonet, giving you the ability to capture incredible images in adverse weather conditions.
Finally, all models include a new and elegant design. The black and matte finish enhances usability and professionalism in filming. The lenses are light and robust, and are designed for any project. Distance scales can be read from both sides, as can focal lengths. These functions allow videographers and their assistants to work more intuitively.
