POLARPRO Variable Filter ND4 to ND32 Peter McKinnon Signature Edition II - 77mm
PolarPro's Peter McKinnon Signature Edition ND4 to ND32 Variable Filter is designed for lenses with a front filter thread, offering an exposure reduction of 2 to 5 stops. The density of 2 to 5 creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing for a larger aperture or a slower shutter speed than is normally possible. The degree of density is easily controlled by rotating the front filter ring, helping to predetermine the additional exposure length required.
By increasing the aperture, the depth of field of the image can be controlled more easily. For easier and more repeatable control over density settings, the front ring features a numbered scale of stop values and also features haptic feedback to feel a click when hitting a number without the need to look at the ring. The ring features side knurling for a secure grip and to allow for quick and accurate positioning.
This filter is constructed from quartz glass for durability. To prevent ghosting and internal reflection, 16 layers of anti-reflective coatings offer scratch protection to the filter substrate, promoting clarity and color fidelity. The coatings also provide a better bead when in contact with water or oil, allowing for more efficient cleaning.
Quartz optics are placed inside an aluminum alloy filter ring assembly for lightweight durability. The Defender 360's unique hybrid case/cover is included for storage and transport and acts as a front cover when the filter is placed on your lens is like a dustproof and waterproof hard storage case, adding the back cover when the filter is not in use.
