HOYA PRO Filter ND100 72mm
The PROND100 has a 6/3 stop reduction of light equal to an ND optical density of approx. 2.1
The ACCU-ND technology in the HOYA PROND filters produces a truly neutral color balance that doesn't add any noticeable color tone to your images. The HOYA PROND series is aimed at the HDSLR photography and video markets. The series provides 10 one-stop filters for 10 stops of light reduction.
The ACCU-ND metallic coating on PROND filters does not change colour as you move from one density to the next, a common problem in other neutral density filter series. Now you can set the white balance once and have the same colour balance, even if you need to change filters due to changes in lighting or for creative effects.
PROND filters use HOYA's unique clear optical glass that has an ACCU-ND metallic coating on the front and back to create the neutral density effect.
Neutral density filters are designed to reduce the amount of light entering the camera lens and should not have any other effect on the image. Reducing the amount of light allows the use of wider apertures or slower shutter speeds to achieve creative and dramatic effects in bright lighting conditions.
The HOYA PROND100 is a dark neutral density filter with a filter factor of 100. This filter factor converts to a 6 2/3 stop light loss. This is a great filter that slows down the shutter speed to blur motion.
Example: In daylight, perhaps the lowest shutter speed available with a filter is 1/60 sec' at f/22. Adding the PROND100, a shutter speed of a full 2 seconds would be possible.
