HOYA FILTER PROND 64 EX 67mm
ABOUT ND FILTERS
Neutral density (ND) filters are the most demanded and essential type of photographic filter for several reasons.
For photographers, the ND filter means precise control of the amount of light passing through the lens for greater creative control over exposure.
For video content creators, ND filters go a long way in setting shutter speeds to match the frame rate while maintaining the depth of field of the footage.
Among the varieties of ND filters from ND2 to ND1000 up to ND100000, we can generally categorize ND filters into 3 basic groups:
- Light density filters (ND2 - ND8)
- Medium density filters (ND16 - ND200)
- Deep Density Filters (ND500 – ND1000/ND100000)

Light density filters reduce the shutter speed on bright sunny days to allow you to reduce the depth of field in very bright light or use a wider aperture to stay below the diffraction limit.
For example, these filters are necessary for shooting with fast lenses like f/1.4 or f/1.2 with a wide aperture for smoother, more beautiful bokeh.
Medium density filters will help you add motion blur to the subject in conditions that don't usually allow the camera's shutter speed to do so.
If you want more creative photos based on extremely slow shutter speeds, deep density filters are suggested.
ND filters like ND500 or ND1000 will help capture the dramatic unreal fantasy world that can't be seen by the human eye.

COLOR CHANGE TROUBLESHOOTING
HOYA
It offers its own unique and wide range of ND filters that are part of the PROND EX series for photographers and filmmakers.
PROND EX filters adopt HOYA's clear optical glass, which is mounted on a lightweight, precisely crafted aluminum frame.
The frame has front filter threads so you can attach additional filters or a lens cap.
Thanks to the ACCU-ND technology that puts HOYA ND filters far ahead of other brands, the image does not suffer any negative effects from the color shift that can occur due to poor quality materials, poor manufacturing quality control, or problems with leakage of the infrared range of the light spectrum.
The last problem is the most important nowadays in photography and videography.
HOYA's unique ACCU-ND technology achieves an equal reduction of light in the visible and infrared spectrums.
As a result, the photographer may not fear any problems with color change when using HOYA ND filters in different shooting conditions.

PROND FILTERS IN VIDEO PRODUCTION
ND filters in video recording are also an irreplaceable tool.
For example, when shooting with a Sony camera in Slog mode, ISO cannot be set below 800.
To achieve natural movement, the shutter speed must be adjusted to the frame rate setting.
During the day, PROND EX 8, PROND EX 64, PROND EX 1000 or their combination (such as PROND EX 8 + PROND EX 64) would be required to achieve cinematic quality.
PROND FILTER COMBINATIONS
The choice of ND filters depends on the photographer's intentions to achieve the desired effect on the image.
If the effect of using a single ND filter does not satisfy the photographer's vision, the combination of PROND EX filters can also be useful.
For example, the combination of PROND EX 8 + PROND EX 64 will give the same effect as the ND500 filter, which can be used to express an unreal fantasy world.
The combination of PROND EX 8 + PROND EX 1000 will give the same effect as ND8000, which will allow you to capture the surface of the Sun without overexposure with solid color and visibility of black spots.
