1.0-TYPE EXMOR CMOS SENSOR
To achieve imaging performance that would otherwise be unattainable in a compact camcorder, the Z200 relies on a large 1.0-type Exmor RS Exmor RS large 1.0-type CMOS image sensor.
Its unique stacked structure, with backlit pixels layered over integrated signal processing circuitry, allows for faster read speeds and superior performance in low-light conditions as more light reaches the sensor.

BIONZ XR IMAGE PROCESSING
Integrated into the image sensor, our next-generation BIONZ XR image processor enables higher frame rates, faster autofocus, improved Auto Tracing White Balance (ATW) control, and superior noise reduction.
It extracts maximum performance from the high-resolution image sensor, effortlessly capturing the subtlest textures and finest details.
5K supersampling with full-pixel readout condenses a wide range of image information into stunning 4K (3840 x 2160) 60p video.

IMPROVED WHITE BALANCE ACCURACY
The Z200's auto-tracking (ATW) white balance control has evolved along with the capabilities of BIONZ XR and AI.
The camera's AI processing unit allows for more precise ATW control, even in challenging lighting conditions, such as when the targeted person is in shadow.

ADVANCED AI PROCESSING UNIT FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF AF
A specialized AI processing unit, working in conjunction with BIONZ XR, uses deep learning based on human form and posture data to recognize human subjects with high accuracy.
The Fast Hybrid AF system offers a wide coverage of 81% to better support subject recognition AF and real-time tracking.
The Z200 can effortlessly track and maintain focus on objects almost anywhere in the frame.

AUTO-FRAMING*
With auto-framing enabled, the camera will automatically track a recognized human object and adjust the framing so that the subject is always positioned prominently in the frame.
The resulting footage may appear as if a human operator is manually adjusting the framing during filming, even though the camera is stationary the entire time.
Solo operators can focus on interacting with the interviewee without having to constantly check camera placement.
Starting with Ver.2.0, the crop and framing position can be manually adjusted via Monitor & Control Ver. 2.3. Up to 10** compositions can be preset.

4K 120 FPS* FOR STUNNING SLOW-MOTION FOOTAGE
The Exmor RS sensor's high readout speed enables 4K recording with high frame rate (HFR) at up to 120 fps and FHD at 240 fps.
Get 4x slow-motion in 4K at 30p or 5x slow-motion at 24p. Whatever your creative choice, High-Speed AF helps ensure your subject is kept in focus.
Slow & Quick Motion** is supported for recording up to 4K 120fps and FHD 240fps.

20X OPTICAL ZOOM
An excellent G Lens™ with powerful 20x zoom covers everything from wide-angle in-car interviews to telephoto close-ups for sport.
Offering an optical zoom range of 24-480mm (35mm equivalent at full-frame), it's based on Sony's Clear Image Zoom technology, which adds the ability to achieve a 30x zoom when shooting in 4K.
Starting with Ver.2.0, the Z200 supports High Quality Digital Extender with Clear Image Zoom function up to 60x in FHD.
And you can explore the maximum apertures of F2.8 (wide) and F4.5 (telephoto) while zooming quickly, smoothly and quietly.

ADVANCED IMAGE STABILIZATION
Minimize the effects of camera shake with built-in image stabilization.
Make sure your footage is smooth and stable with Active Mode image stabilization*, where optical and electronic stabilization work together to make handheld shots glide effortlessly.
* Small image cropping in active mode. Active Mode is not available when recording at frame rates of 120 (100) fps or higher, including S&Q.

INTEGRATED ELECTRONIC VARIABLE ND FILTER
Perfectly adjust the variable electronic ND filter to suit a variety of light levels.
Switch from 1/4 to 1/128 ND with a simple dial adjustment, or rely on Auto ND to maintain the exposure that's right for you – especially useful when moving quickly between indoors and outdoors.

ACCURATE LCD MONITOR AND OLED DISPLAY
Easily monitor and focus on objects with a new 3.5-type LCD monitor that delivers approximately 2.76 million dots with exceptional brightness and sharpness.
The monitor moves up and down as well as backwards, so it's easy to find a comfortable viewing angle.
The supplied LCD cover is easily installed by sliding it into the slots at the top and bottom of the LCD monitor, while the monitor can be folded for storage even with the cover installed.
For clear, distraction-free viewing, the 0.39-type high-contrast OLED viewfinder blocks out external light and offers approximately 2.36 million dots.

COMPACT DESIGN AND STORAGE
Easily fold the EVF and LCD panel to store this lightweight camera. The Z200 (main body only) weighs approximately 1.96 kg (4 lb 5.1 oz) and measures 175.6 mm (7 in) x 201.3 mm (8 in) x 371.1 mm (14 5/8 in.) (WxHxD), but when stored, these dimensions drop to 175.6 mm (7 in) x 175.4 mm (7 in) x 285.1 mm (11 1/5 in.) (WxHxD)*.
The microphone mount can be removed from the camera to further enhance portability.

FLEXIBLE CAMERA CONTROL
The Z200 is designed with the flexibility to operate according to your individual preferences and workflow demands.
Two independent control rings for focus/zoom [1] and two dials for IRIS/ND Variable [2] are located side by side, allowing effortless control of exposure in addition to focus and zoom.
As of Ver.2.0, IRIS can be assigned to the zoom ring and Zoom can be assigned to the focus ring. The Z200 also has 12 user-assignable buttons (ASSIGN 1-11 [3] and FOCUS PUSH AUTO button [4]) that you can set to control almost all camera features.

AUTO/MANUAL SWITCH
If shooting conditions suddenly interrupt your shots, you can automatically adjust the settings and maintain optimal brightness and white balance with a single switch.
When set to AUTO, it activates Auto ND Filter, Auto Iris, Auto Gain Control, Auto Shutter, and Auto White Mode.

CINEMATIC AND BROADCAST BASE APPEARANCE
Easily achieve the look and feel of professional film or broadcast productions.
Use presets for S-Cinetone, ITU709, 709tone, HLG Live, HLG Mild, and HLG Natural, and then adjust the black, matrix, and other parameters as desired.
Easily match the colour of your footage to content shot on other Sony broadcast cameras and Cinema Line.
Starting with Ver.2.0, the scene file can be streamed as a single file, including Basic Appearance.
In Custom mode, the settings of items that are subject to Store/Recall in the scene file can be saved (exported) to media and loaded (imported) to the Z200 and NX800.

MULTIPLE RECORDING OPTIONS
The Z200 offers a wide range of recording formats to meet the individual requirements of your project.
XAVC (MXF) offers enhanced compatibility for MXF-based broadcast TV workflows. XAVC S-I delivers the highest quality 4:2:2 10-bit recording for 4K (QFHD) using easy-to-post-production Intra-Frame H.264.
The XAVC HS-L (H.265) and XAVC S-L (H.264) offer a choice of 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 with long GOP recording for extended recording times and file-saving efficiency.
XAVC HS proxy recording up to 16 Mbps can be recorded simultaneously with higher bitrate formats, and these smaller proxy files can be used for editing and viewing prior to final production delivery. 
Starting with Ver.2.0, the Z200 supports MPEG HD422*

COMPREHENSIVE CONNECTIVITY
Use SDI input and output (12G, 6G, 3G Level A&B, and HD), as well as TC input and output, for proxy recording and multi-camera productions.

Record up to four channels of audio by combining inputs via XLR connectors and the Multi Interface (MI) shoe.
Adjust the levels of two of the channels using the audio level selectors, without accessing the device menus.

SIMPLE FILE TRANSFERS
Easily upload proxy and original clips to a cloud or FTP server, directly from the memory card.
Once you register the destination server on the camera, the recorded files are automatically transferred whenever the recording is stopped.
Proxy clips can even be written to segments and transferred sequentially during recording.
The Creator's Cloud for enterprise C3 Portal (paid)* APP makes cloud transfers easy, so video files are available for editing and sharing even sooner.

TWO MEMORY CARD SLOTS
Record to two cards simultaneously or use relay recording to back up your content.
Dual memory card slots support CFexpress Type A and SDXC memory cards.

RELIABLE BATTERY POWER
Quickly charge BP-U35, BP-U70, or BP-U100 lithium-ion batteries using the BC-U1A or BC-U2A charger (batteries and charger sold separately).
The continuous operation time with a BP-U35 battery is approximately 90 minutes. Swap batteries between other Sony cameras, including the PXW-Z280 and PXW-Z190 camcorders, as well as the FX9 and FX6 Cinema Line cameras.

INTERNAL FAN AND VENTILATION OPENINGS
Maintain optimal operating temperature, thanks to an integrated cooling fan and carefully designed ventilation openings.

INTERVAL RECORDING AND IMAGE CACHE RECORDING
Images can be automatically recorded at intervals defined by setting the number of frames per shot and the shooting interval.
By storing video in the internal memory before pressing the Rec (Record) button, you can record video footage of approximately 5, 10, 20 seconds, etc., before.

ACCESSIBILITY
A screen reader function* allows menu screens to be read aloud with user-selected volume and reading speed.
A screen magnification feature increases the size of the recording, playback, and menu screens with a user-selected magnification ratio.
