KOMODO-X ™ is the next evolution of the KOMODO family, multiplying the frame rates, dynamic range and usability of the original KOMODO to break new ground.
NEXT-GENERATION KOMODO® SENSOR
The KOMODO-X features the Global Shutter 6K S35 sensor that is the same size as the KOMODO, but with a complete redesign and major architectural improvements. Enhanced detail and color in shadows, combined with twice the frame rates in 6K 80P and 4K 120P, make the KOMODO-X an even more powerful tool for creatives.
IMPROVED BODY AND I/O
With key enhancements to professional workflows, the KOMODO-X now shares many features with the DSMC3 ™ line, while keeping the KOMODO form factor impressively small.
A built-in micro V-Lock allows for direct connection of professional micro V-Lock batteries without the need for adapters and is also compatible with the upcoming RED Pro I/O module to provide auxiliary power and compatibility with full-size V-Lock and Gold Mount batteries.
A reinforced RF lens mount with locking mechanism maintains the flexibility to switch tool-free between various lens mount types, while providing the stability and rigidity that professionals need. KOMODO-X is also fully compatible with /i PL lenses using the RED ® RF to PL adapter.
12G SDI, FULL-SIZE DC-IN, USB Type-C and a phantom power-lock audio jack allow the KOMODO-X to integrate seamlessly into any professional workflow. KOMODO-X is compatible with the DSMC3 ™ RED ® 5-pin to single 3.5 mm adapter to support existing KOMODO microphones, or the DSMC3 ™ RED ® 5-pin to dual XLR adapter for general-purpose XLR microphones.
An integrated 2.9" LCD allows for simplified control and viewing of images in compact configurations. For more accurate monitoring, the KOMODO-X supports the DSMC3 ™ RED ® Touch 7.0" LCD, which provides a superior high-resolution daylight-viewable camera monitor and control solution without the clutter of cables.
CONNECTED IP
KOMODO-X is a powerful platform for any IP-based workflow, from virtual production to live streaming.
With built-in USB Type-C connection and built-in Wi-Fi, remotely control the camera using RED Control or RED Control Pro, as well as IP media offloading using FTPS or cloud upload functionality on the camera (Frame.io and S3).
In addition, the KOMODO-X supports frame-accurate PTP synchronization or three-level genlock sensor synchronization with the ability to compensate in real-time to support multi-camera LED volume productions.
The KOMODO-X also supports RED Connect, a licensed feature that enables live streaming of 6K images directly from the camera over IP, expanding RED's cinematic images to unlimited new uses.
