High Resolution Digital CinematographicSensor!
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K includes a sensor with a native resolution of 4096 x 2160, while the 6K models have a native resolution of 6144 x 3456. When you're shooting in bright sunlight or almost no light, the 13 stops of dynamic range and dual native ISO up to 25,600 deliver stunning low-noise images in all lighting conditions. In addition, the larger Super 35 sensor of the 6K models offers shallow depth-of-field recording and anamorphic lenses. All models allow you to record at up to 60 fps at full resolution or 120 fps in windowed mode. With an amazing sensor and Blackmagic color science, you get the same imaging technology as more expensive digital film cameras.

With three models available, you can choose from EF or MFT lenses, which makes the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera compatible with the widest range and most popular lenses in the world. The 6K models have an EF lens mount, so you can use the lenses you already use on DSLR cameras, URSA Mini Pro or even the original Blackmagic Cinema Camera. You can use commonly available photographic lenses that give you amazing creative choices and lens effects worthy of feature films. The active lens mount allows you to adjust the focus and iris via the camera buttons or the touch screen. For even greater flexibility, the MFT lens mount on the 4K model can be adapted for PL, C, EF and other types of lenses.
Built-in ND Filters
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro includes high quality motorized ND filters that make it possible to quickly reduce the amount of light entering the camera. The 2-, 4 - and 6-stop filters have been specially developed to match the camera's colorimetry and color science, giving you additional latitude even under harsh lighting conditions. IR filters are designed to uniformly filter out both optical and IR wavelengths to eliminate infrared contamination in images. The activation buttons are located on the back of the camera body, positioned within reach of your thumb via the multi-function hand grip. User-selectable filter settings can be displayed as an ND value, a stop reduction, or fraction on the LCD.
Record Incredible Images with High Dynamic Range (HDR)
The distance between the lightest and darkest parts of an image is called the dynamic range and measured in stops. Blackmagic Pocket Cinema cameras have an incredible 13 stops of dynamic range, which means they preserve more detail in the brightest and darkest areas of an image than regular camcorders. That means you can set the exposure for an indoor scene and keep the details of the bright light outside coming through a window. Plus, you get even more color than the standard DCI-P3 color space used in feature films.
DualNative ISO for Incredible Low-Light Performance
In digital film, ISO is a measurement of the image sensor's sensitivity to light. The higher the ISO number, the higher the sensitivity to light. Therefore, it is possible to record using natural light even at night. The Pocket Cinema Camera models have a dual-gain ISO of up to 25,600, which means they are optimized to minimize grain and noise in images while maintaining the sensor's full dynamic range. The native ISO of 400 is ideal for scenes with set lighting. The high base secondary ISO of 3200 is perfect when you're shooting in low-light environments. The gain changes automatically as you adjust the ISO, so it's easy to capture amazing images when there's no time to install lights.
Ideal File Formatsfor Post-Production!
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera uses open standard file formats so you don't waste time transcoding media. The files are compatible with virtually all post-production programs so you can work with your favorite software or use DaVinci Resolve Studio. Recording is done to industry standard Apple ProRes 10-bit files in all formats up to 4K or Blackmagic RAW 12-bit in all formats up to 6K. Blackmagic RAW is the fastest growing RAW format in the world and developers can download and use the free Blackmagic RAW SDK to add support to their applications. And best of all, media files work on all operating systems. You can still format media cards and discs in HFS+ for Mac and ExFAT for Windows.

The LCD touchscreen displays crucial information on the heads-up display (HUD) and gives you access to the camera's setup menus. Digital film cameras record in a logarithmic color space to preserve dynamic range, which is great for post-production, but these files can be displayed with less contrast and saturation when viewed on a monitor. 3D LUTs solve this problem because they allow you to apply a "look" to the monitor to get an idea of how the images will look during editing. LUTs can be applied temporarily for monitoring only, or they can be recorded with Blackmagic RAW files for use in post production. The Pocket Cinema Camera supports industry-standard 17-point and 33-point 3D LUT files, or you can work with the included LUTs such as Extended Video, Film to Video, Film to Rec.2020, and more .

The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera features an innovative , high speed USB-C expansion port that operates at up to 5Gb /s. USB-C technology, available on most modern computers, also provides power. Built-in Time Code Generator
Fast Multi-Camera Shooting in Perfect Sync !
Professional cameras include features such as a built-in timecode generator, which makes it possible to shoot with more than one camera and maintain perfect sync. Simply plug an external timecode generator like Tentacle Sync into the 3.5mm audio jack and the camera will automatically detect the timecode and lock the internal generator. Now, each camera can start and stop recording, and all shots from all cameras will have the same matched timecode. Imagine filming a music festival with several traveling cameras! Use the Pocket Cinema Cameraas a Live Studio Camera!
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera now works as a studio camera for live production when used with ATEM Mini. Video control is via the HDMI connection, which is available as soon as you connect the cameras. The recording light turns into a cue so you can see which camera is in the air. The ATEM Software Control camera page has a camera control unit (CCU) style interface for adjusting and matching your cameras. Move the CCU control vertically to iris and from right to left to adjust the black level. It's like in a professional CCU!
