Consistently accurate exposure and color
The α6700 offers impressive exposure control. Equipped with a new AE algorithm, initially developed for full-frame models, it allows you to accurately detect the skin area of faces and adjust exposure accordingly when shooting and filming. It also maintains realistic colors with different light sources, from sunlight to lighting in theaters and stadiums, and produces more natural skin tones and sky and foliage colors.
Choose your creative look
The Creative appearance setting offers greater creative flexibility and simplicity. Provide 10 presets that can be used as you can or customise in 8 parameters that are adjustable to your subject or scene, whether you're taking photos, shooting movies or live streaming. You can set the environment before capture so that infected images will soon readily share.
5-axis optical image stabilization
Shoot manually or in low light with confidence. The 5-axis optical image stabilization system in the body has precision gyroscopic sensors to compensate for movement in up to 5 steps. Selectable RAW file types and quality
In addition to compressed RAW shooting, the α6700 supports lossless compressed RAW that offers effective capability and enables the capture of a greater number of high-quality images in continuous bursts. Provides a new Light selection of image quality that generates less data for JPEG and HEIF images.
HEIF: High pressures with optimal image quality
For the first time on an APS-C camera, the α6700 features the HEIF format with smooth 10-bit gradations for more realistic reproduction of the skies and skin tones in portraits. The HEIF format uses supporting technology to maintain image quality, greatly meet file size, and save storage space.

The α6700 is equipped with an innovative AI processing unit that has significantly improved its performance, including more accurate recognition of differentiated objects.
Human Pose Estimation
The α6700 uses object shape data to recognise movement, achieving enhanced recognition of the human eye. It uses learned human shapes and postures to accurately recognize the body and head by fixating on and following an object facing away from the chamber or partially obscured by a helmet or sunglasses.
More comprehensive object recognition
In addition to humans and animals, the α6700 now recognizes birds, insects, cars, trains, and airplanes, and offers greater flexibility and reliability for shooting movies and stills. Recognize heads and bodies beyond the eyes (Real-time Eye AF) in the Human and Animal settings, and now also in the Bird setting, with 40% higher animal recognition performance compared to the α6600.
Smarter real-time tracking
Optimized, more reliable AI-based real-time tracking simplifies shooting, leaving you free to focus on framing and compositing. The α6700 can even track people with helmets or animals facing away from the camera.

Faster, more accurate wide-area AF
The extensive processing power and updated algorithms of the new BIONZ XR engine have achieved remarkably improved AF performance, with up to 759 phase-detection points, covering approximately 93% of the image area captured.
Precise AF with EV light –3.0 low
The latest AF algorithms have achieved high AF accuracy at light levels as low as EV –3.0 in AF-S mode (ISO 100 equivalent, F2.0 lens). Focus priority enables more reliable AF in low light or at smaller apertures.
Capture over 1000 images at 11fps
The α6700's powerful BIONZ XR engine combines with a large buffer to boost write speeds to memory cards, so the camera captures more than 1000 JPEG, 59 compressed RAW, or 23 losslessly compressed RAW images in high-speed continuous bursts.
Continuous DMF
When shooting with AF-C or AF-S autofocus, the lens's focus ring can be rotated to instantly switch to manual focus mode at any time. This makes it easy to quickly switch focus to a different subject.
Focus bracketing to capture the best image
The α6700 captures up to 299 images with focus points shifted sequentially according to specified intervals and sequences. Choose optimal shooting or post-process shooting as shots to create creative composites with incredible depth of focus.
Flicker suppression
Eliminate flicker from artificial lighting, whether you're shooting stills or movies. Simply select "Anti-Flicker Shooting" or use "Shutter Zoom" to fine-tune shutter speeds to match the flicker when shooting.

Stunning quality 4K movie recording
The α6700 shoots in 4K (QFHD: 3840 x 2160) up to 60p (50p) with Sony's patented 6K oversampling technology. By compressing this expanded detail in the output, you get 4K video quality with outstanding definition, even at higher frame rates. The camera also supports high-quality XAVC SI (All-Intra) and XAVC HS formats with built-in 10-bit 4:2:2 color.
