Canon EOS R7
EOS R technology meets APS-C design for a small, fast and powerful hybrid mirrorless camera.

Where is it going next?
Continuing the legacy of our incredible EOS 7D series cameras, the EOS R7 brings high-end performance and ferocious speed in a next-generation EOS R series mirrorless body.

EOS R innovation meets APS-C design.
The EOS R7 is designed with an APS-C size sensor, so the lenses offer a telephoto range 1.6x greater than the equivalent focal length lens on a full-frame camera. You'll feel like you're right next to your subject, able to capture frame-filling animal portraits and powerful action shots packed with impact.

Autofocus that defies expectations
Wildlife photographers will love the way the camera recognises birds in flight, keeping them sharp as they fly across the landscape. Sports photographers will enjoy the ability to follow people as they move quickly and unpredictably, even when wearing a helmet, looking in a different direction or turning upside down.
The EOS R7's Dual Pixel CMOS AF II focusing system covers and tracks subjects at almost 100% of the frame1 and ensures fast, accurate AF, even when light levels drop to 5EV 2 or at maximum apertures as small as f/22.
Optical lens-based and mechanical body image stabilizers work together via the camera's high-speed RF mount, providing up to 7 stops of protection against camera shake with the RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM1, and also offer the world's highest image stabilization2 of 8.0 stops3
When you're shooting with non-IS lenses (such as fast prime lenses), the EOS-R system's wide-angle mount allows the EOS R7's IBIS to continue to provide highly effective protection against camera shake.
This collaborative approach to image stabilization opens the door to a world of new creative opportunities. Shoot handheld with multi-second shutter speeds to blur moving subjects while keeping everything else sharp; an approach that would otherwise require a heavy tripod.
Wildlife and sports photographers working with telephoto focal lengths will love the freedom of shooting handheld, even in low light, safe in the knowledge that the EOS R7's collaborative image stabilisation is helping them achieve the sharpest possible results.

Almost instantly...
Impressive speed and performance
The perfect photo moment can last only fractions of a second. That's why we designed the EOS R7 to be exceptionally fast. Shoot RAW, JPEG and HEIF files at an impressive 15fps6 – or up to 30fps4 when using the camera's silent electronic shutter7 – with continuous AF and AE that constantly react as you shoot.
A maximum electronic shutter speed of 1/16,000 sec. reveals details that are often overlooked by the naked eye.

Fiercely fast, at 15 fps or higher
Ephemeral moments and long-lasting split-seconds need a super-fast camera to capture them. The EOS R7 is here, a powerful mirrorless camera for shooting action, sports and wildlife, as well as everyday photography.
It is capable of capturing up to 15 RAW + JPEG files per second with the mechanical shutter and up to 30 fps with the silent electronic shutter 1. All with simultaneous AF tracking and auto exposure. The larger buffer allows you to capture up to 51 RAW files or 224 JPEG images in a single 15fps2 burst.
The camera's electronic shutter has a maximum shutter speed of just 1/16,000 second, allowing photographers to freeze the fastest motion and use large apertures in bright conditions to reduce depth of field.
When using the mechanical shutter, the anti-flicker shooting function is also available, which is ideal for indoor event or sports photography. The function is automatically activated if flashing artificial light is detected and times each shot to match the maximum brightness of the flashing light. This results in consistent exposures across all images.

RAW burst mode
Photographers can choose to capture bursts of RAW images, captured at up to 30fps, as a single file, which helps keep the large number of frames organized. Individual RAW images can then be extracted or processed into JPEG or HEIF files.
When pre-shooting is enabled, the camera records images from 0.5 seconds before pressing the shutter button, meaning it will always capture the moment, even if it happened before reacting. It's a great tool for photographing wildlife when you're waiting for a unique moment in time.

Designed to react quickly
You'll notice the EOS R7's fast and responsive handling from the first moment you use it. The powerful DIGIC X image processor ensures near-instant start-up and outstanding responsiveness, so you're always ready for the right moment.
Images can be saved to fast UHS-II SD memory cards. There's room for two, thanks to the camera's two card slots.
The DIGIC X processor also powers the EOS R7's excellent AF tracking and continuous shooting capabilities. By using fast UHS-II SD memory cards, bursts of 51 RAW files, 187 CRAW files, or 224 JPEG files can be captured at speeds of up to 15fps with the camera's mechanical shutter. By using the electronic shutter at a whopping 30fps, you can capture bursts1 of up to 42 RAW files, 93 CRAW files and 126 JPEG files2.
The camera controls are instinctively arranged, so they sit naturally under your fingers and thumbs with the camera at eye level. The combined AF multi-controller and control knob are conveniently close to the thumb grip, so you don't have to take your eyes off the viewfinder to adjust the AF point, change settings or scroll through images. You can also tap and drag the selection of AF points via the camera's touchscreen.

Fluid movement, captured perfectly on video
The EOS R7 is also a great tool for capturing fast-moving subjects in video, such as sports and wildlife. Simply turn the power switch from "stills" to "movies" and you're ready to capture 4K footage at frame rates up to 60p and Full HD footage up to 120p. Motion is reproduced fluidly, and when the footage is slowed down, intricate details are revealed in smooth slow motion.

A pleasant display to use
The EOS R7 has a comfortable and responsive 2.36-million-dot electronic viewfinder (EVF) that gives you a clear view of the world around you. Preview exactly what you'll capture when you press the shutter button, from exposure and white balance to depth of field and image style. You can even analyze images in detail with the EVF.
Plus, because it's customisable, you can choose to display the optimal level of shooting information on the camera's EVF, so you can stay informed without being distracted. EOS R7 users can also choose between Smooth mode (120fps refresh rate) and Power Saving Mode (60fps refresh rate).
For DSLR users, the EOS R7's EVF has an OVF assist mode that simulates the experience of an optical viewfinder, displaying as much dynamic range and colour gradation as possible. It's a DSLR-like experience on a new mirrorless camera system.

Better-than-expected image quality
Designed for hybrid content creators, the EOS R7 delivers outstanding image quality no matter how you're using it – stills, videos or a bit of both.
Whether you're a photographer who also enjoys shooting videos or a videographer who enjoys capturing a few shots, the EOS R7 delivers impressive results. This true hybrid camera lets you switch between stills and movies at the flick of a switch, without affecting intricate details, natural colours and soft tones, no matter how you work.

Basically, the EOS R7 gives you the freedom to tell stories as you please.
The 32.5-megapixel APS-C sensor, designed and manufactured by Canon, produces the perfect balance of detail, speed and low-light performance. High-resolution images look stunning on large prints or high-resolution screens. They can also be cropped during editing without any visible loss in image quality.

Low light? No problem
When darkness haunts, the EOS R7 continues to produce stunning images. The maximum ISO sensitivity of 32000 (expandable to ISO 51200) ensures you can use the high shutter speeds to suspend movement, even in low light, which is perfect for evening sporting events or shooting animal behaviour at the end of the day.
The camera's Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system tracks subjects continuously, with a sensitivity that allows you to focus confidently and accurately in dark conditions equivalent to -5 EV (or -3.5 EV in movie mode)1. The Collaborative Image Stabilizer provides up to 7 stops2 of protection against camera shake when using the RF-S 18-150mm F3.5-6.3 IS STM.
