PYXIS - THE WORLD'S MOST EQUIPPABLE FULL-FRAME DIGITAL FILM CAMERA!
Introducing the next-generation customizable cinema camera.
The Blackmagic PYXIS is a high quality digital film camera that produces accurate skin tones and vivid, natural colors.
It has an extremely versatile design that allows you to mount the perfect camera rig for your production.
It features a 36 x 24mm full-frame 6K or 12K sensor with wide dynamic range and a low-pass optical filter that perfectly matches the sensor.
There are three models available with EF, PL or L mounts, all with two CFexpress media recorders and Ethernet connection for sharing via Blackmagic Cloud.
Plus, it simultaneously records in Blackmagic 12-bit RAW and H.264 proxy files.

TWO EXCELLENT MODELS FOR ADVANCED DIGITAL CINEMA
Blackmagic PYXIS 6K: Advanced digital film camera with extremely versatile design.
Includes 36 x 24mm full-frame 6K sensor, wide dynamic range and models with EF, PL or L mount. Records in Blackmagic RAW with proxies on CFexpress cards.

Blackmagic PYXIS 12K: Digital film camera with revolutionary 36 x 24mm full-frame RGBW sensor, up to 12288 x 8040 resolution, 16 stops of dynamic range, and models with EF, PL, or L mount.

DESIGNED FOR MAXIMUM CUSTOMIZATION
With multiple mounting points and accessory side plates, it's easy to set up Blackmagic PYXIS to be your perfect camera.
The PYXIS is lightweight and at the same time very resistant thanks to its compact body made of aerospace aluminum with precision CNC machining.
It is easy to mount on various camera rigs, such as cranes, gimbals or drones. In addition to the various 1/4" and 3/8" mounting threads on the top and bottom of its body, Blackmagic PYXIS includes a variety of side plates so you can attach many accessories such as straps, microphones or even SSDs .
Thanks to all this, you will be able to mount the perfect, resistant and reliable camera for all your productions.

HOLLYWOOD LOOK WITH DIGITAL FILM
Blackmagic PYXIS offers all the professional features used in feature films, TV shows and documentaries, and can also be leveraged to create cinematic content for social media, YouTube and more.
It has the same features as high-end cinema cameras to capture intense colors, images rich in detail and a wide dynamic range between highlights and shadows.
That's what makes theatrical films so engaging, and now that same high quality is available for any production.
Imagine shooting in large format when creating independent films, advertisements or even corporate videos !

LARGE FORMAT CINEMATIC DIGITAL FILM SENSOR
Blackmagic PYXIS cameras are equipped with a large full-frame sensor with a native resolution of 6048 x 4032 or a staggering 12288 x 8040, almost three times larger than a Super 35 sensor, allowing you to work with shallow depth of field or use anamorphic lenses for a truly cinematic look.
Whether in bright sunlight or almost no light, the high-performance sensor with wide dynamic range delivers stunning , low-noise images in any situation.
PYXIS also records at up to 120 fps on the 6K model or 112 fps on the 12K version. This powerful sensor, combined with Blackmagic color science, delivers the same quality as more expensive digital film cameras.

FLEXIBILITY WITH FULL FRAME
With its full frame sensor, Blackmagic PYXIS gives you the freedom to work with different cinematic screen formats and aspect ratios without sacrificing quality.
By shooting with the entire sensor area, you get a differentiated 3:2 open gate image, which can also be reframed in post-production.
It is also possible to shoot in true 6:5 anamorphic, without cropping, generating cinematic widescreen images with more detail and resolution. You can even switch to a classic Super 35 window, easily creating close-up versions that perfectly match the open gate plans . All this allows you to produce cinematographic content with maximum quality and creative flexibility.

THREE LENS MOUNT OPTIONS
Blackmagic PYXIS is available in L, EF or PL mount, giving you compatibility with a wide range of cinema and photographic lenses.
The L-mount model works with full-frame lenses from Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma, and allows the use of adapters for new or vintage lenses.
The EF mount model is ideal for taking advantage of high quality DSLR lenses you already own, including those used with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera.
The PL model is compatible with professional cinema lenses from Zeiss, ARRI, Cooke and others, without the need for an adapter.
With Blackmagic PYXIS, you have complete freedom to choose the right lenses for your project.

SHOOT INCREDIBLE IMAGES WITH HIGH DYNAMIC RANGE (HDR)
The distance between the lightest and darkest areas of an image is called the dynamic range and is measured in stops.
The Blackmagic PYXIS 6K offers a wide range of 13 stops, while the PYXIS 12K achieves an impressive 16 stops, preserving much more detail in highlights and shadows than traditional camcorders.
This allows, for example, to adjust the exposure for an indoor scene, such as a coffee shop, and still keep the details of the intense light coming in through a window.
DaVinci Resolve Studio software is also included, giving you total creative freedom with full exposure adjustment and recall controls when color processing .

EXCELLENT LOW-LIGHT PERFORMANCE
In digital film, ISO measures the sensor's sensitivity to light. This allows you to shoot in natural light even at night, as higher ISO values mean greater sensitivity.
With dual native ISO up to 25,600, Blackmagic PYXIS models are optimized to minimize image noise while maintaining the full dynamic range of the sensor. On the PYXIS 6K, the native ISO of 400 is ideal for scenes with controlled lighting, while the higher secondary base ISO of 3200 is excellent for low-light environments.
The PYXIS 12K operates at ISO from 200 to 3200, with performance optimized at 800.
This way, you can capture incredible images even when you don't have time to install lights.

MULTIPLE RESOLUTIONS AND FRAME RATES
Blackmagic PYXIS models record at all standard resolutions and frame rates, from HD to DCI 4K, 6K, 8K and even 12K. The PYXIS 12K has a multi-scale sensor that allows you to shoot in 12K, 8K or 4K using the full size of the sensor.
Record at up to 40 fps at 12288 x 8040 in 3:2 open gate format, 60 fps at 12288 x 5112 2.4:1, and up to 112 fps at 8192 x 3408 8K.
It is also possible to work in true 6:5 anamorphic at higher resolutions than other cameras using anamorphic lenses at 9.6K at 9648 x 8040.
 PYXIS 6K records at up to 36 fps at 6048 x 4032 open gate 3:2 or 60 fps at 4096 x 2160 DCI 4K.
For even higher rates, window the sensor and record at up to 100 fps at 2112 x 1184 Super 16.

LARGE 4" LCD MONITOR
The LCD built into Blackmagic PYXIS is more than just a status display; it's a high-resolution 4" HDR touchscreen that's also perfect for monitoring and viewing footage on set.
With full HD resolution, you can frame and focus your footage without having to carry a bulky external monitor. You can even use the monitor as a focus assist station.
In addition, as the screen is HDR, it has 1500 nits of brightness to frame your shot even in bright sunlight.
Screen overlays show status, recording parameters, histograms, levels, framing guides, and more.
You can also quickly apply 3D LUTs to track footage with the desired colors and look .

ALL CONTROLS AT YOUR FINGERTIPS
The design of the Blackmagic PYXIS is intuitive and puts important functions such as ISO, WB and shutter at your fingertips, with both touch screen and physical controls.
You can also quickly adjust the settings via the scroll wheel.
Thanks to a row of three customisable function buttons, you don't have to navigate through menus on a small screen to find a command.
Blackmagic PYXIS features intelligently placed record and frame buttons with function keys for features like high frame rates, focus, zoom, false colors and more. The controls can even be locked to prevent accidental changes during filming or when the camera is out of range on a rig.

ADD TOUCHSCREEN MONITORING AND CAMERA CONTROL
The Blackmagic PYXIS Monitor is a 5" HDR monitor with touch screen and full camera control, ideal for mounting anywhere.
It offers the same controls and overlays as PYXIS's built-in LCD, making it ideal for use when installed accessories block the internal monitor.
With multiple mounting points, it's easy to attach it to any camera rig and use it as a larger viewfinder for easier focusing and framing.
It can also be used as an assist station so the crew can frame and monitor footage from anywhere on set.
It features three customizable buttons for quick access to zebras, focus assist, false colors, and more.
Thanks to the 1500 nits display and removable lens hood, the screen is always visible, even in sunlight.

SIDE PLATES FOR FLEXIBLE MOUNTING OPTIONS
The innovative side plates further enhance the adaptability of your camera.
The standard plate included with Blackmagic PYXIS is made of the same aircraft grade aluminum as the camera body and includes two 1/4" and one 3/8" mounting threads for you to install microphones, mounts or other accessories. Install the included SSD card, which offers a convenient place to securely attach USB-C drives for recording or even mobile phones for live streaming.
With five 1/4" and four 3/8" threaded mounts, the optional rosette plate offers more flexibility for installing accessories, as well as a rosette mounting point for attaching grips and extension arms .

EQUIP AS A DYNAMIC BROADCAST CAMERA
The Blackmagic PYXIS Pro Handle and  Pro Grip make the Blackmagic PYXIS a versatile and dynamic camera for UPJ and documentary work.
The top handle features a built-in HD OLED viewfinder with precision glass optics, facilitating high-precision outdoor shooting.
It also includes a high-quality stereo microphone with an ultra-low noise floor for excellent sound in any environment, as well as an easy-to-access record button, zoom rocker, and customizable function buttons. Pro Grip adds a secure hand strap, record button and video camera-type zoom oscillator, making Blackmagic PYXIS even more versatile for fast-paced productions.

FILE FORMATS IDEAL FOR POST-PRODUCTION
Blackmagic PYXIS records in Blackmagic RAW to preserve control over detail, exposure and color during post production. It also records HD H.264 proxies in real time, making it easy to share media around the world in minutes.
Blackmagic RAW is highly optimized, multi-threaded, utilizes multiple CPU cores and is also GPU accelerated for compatibility with Apple Metal, CUDA and OpenCL.
This ensures images with exceptional resolution and quality for colour grading, encoding, compositing, reframing, stabilisation and tracking in HD, 4K, 6K, 8K or even stunning 12K.
The files work on all operating systems, allowing you to format cards and disks in HFS+ on Mac or exFAT on Windows.

BURN TO CFEXPRESS CARDS OR EXTERNAL DISKS
Blackmagic PYXIS has a built-in CFexpress card recorder and a USB-C expansion port for direct recording to external flash drives or SSDs.
CFexpress media is more durable and faster than older media, making it perfect for shooting 12-bit Blackmagic RAW files at full resolution.
Imagine recording more than an hour of 6K footage at full resolution on a single 256GB CFexpress card! Plus, with the dual CFexpress slots, you can swap out full cards without having to stop recording.
The ultra-high speed of CFexpress cards makes them perfect for installation on your computer and direct editing using the included DaVinci Resolve Studio software.

The quality of RAW and the speed of the video!
Blackmagic RAW is a revolutionary format designed to capture and preserve the quality of camera sensor data.
With Blackmagic RAW, you have no issues with quality and you get stunning images with incredible detail and color throughout the entire production pipeline, from shooting to editing, colorization and mastering.
It also saves camera settings as metadata, so you can set the ISO, white balance, and exposure in the camera and replace them later in editing; all without losing quality.
Plus, Blackmagic RAW files are small, quick to use and easy to work with.
Only Blackmagic RAW has the highest quality, smallest files and fastest performance .

Color Temperature
Adjusting the color temperature tells the camera how to interpret white and other colors in an image.
Instead of saving images with fixed color values , Blackmagic RAW lets you change the temperature in post production with DaVinci Resolve Studio.

Contrast
Adjusting the  contrast or tonal scale of an image can highlight different parts of the image.
While it's best to try to get the best possible image on set, with Blackmagic RAW you have the  flexibility to adjust contrast while editing and color correcting without any loss of quality.

ISO
Changing the ISO adjusts the camera's sensitivity to light. Properly exposed shots require a correct combination of ISO, aperture, and shutter speed.
Depending on the lighting and exposure settings, you may need to adjust the ISO in post.

Tint
Adjusting the tint is another way to affect the overall color balance of an image.
Unlike saturation or midpoint, which can make reddens redder or yellows yellower, adjusting the hue actually allows you to push colors in different directions.

Saturation
Saturation is the intensity or purity of a color.
The most saturated colors are pure and the less saturated colors have a percentage of gray proportional to their hue.
Adjusting the saturation of Blackmagic RAW images can help to visually enhance or attenuate colors.

Exposure
To make your images look good, you need to make sure they're not too bright (overexposed) or too dark (underexposed).
With Blackmagic RAW, exposure settings can be changed in post production so you can recover shots that weren't properly exposed.

EQUIPPED WITH BLACKMAGIC OS
Thanks to advanced Blackmagic OS, you have an intuitive, easy-to-use operating system with the latest technology.
It's truly modern, and all camera functions operate independently for smoother control, with near-instant launch.
With the same controls and menus as other Blackmagic cameras, you can switch between cameras on set with ease.
The interface uses simple touch and swipe gestures to adjust settings, add metadata, and view the status of the recording.
You can also make advanced camera adjustments like on-screen focus and exposure tools , 3D LUTs, HDR, metadata entry, timecode, Blackmagic RAW settings and more .

GENERATION COLOR SCIENCE
With the same 5th generation color science as the cutting-edge URSA Cine, Blackmagic PYXIS delivers even more advanced image quality with accurate skin tones and true color in every shot.
It features a new 12-bit dynamic range curve designed to capture more color data in highlights and shadows, delivering more compelling images.
Color science also takes care of some of the complex image processing of Blackmagic RAW, ensuring that color and dynamic range data from the sensor is preserved through metadata that can be used in post production.
So, after the color adjustments you make when you finish with DaVinci Resolve, your images look natural and cinematic.

LIVE SYNC WITH BLACKMAGIC CLOUD AND EDITORS
Blackmagic PYXIS supports the creation of a small H.264 proxy file in addition to the original camera media while recording. This means that the small proxy file can be uploaded to the Blackmagic Cloud in seconds, so your media is available in the studio in real time. The ability to transfer media directly to the DaVinci Resolve media bay while editors work is revolutionary and never before! Any editor working anywhere in the world will have the images! If you have multiple cameras, the new multi-source feature on the DaVinci Resolve crop page will display each camera angle in a multiview. Blackmagic Cloud is a revolution in global post production workflows!

THREE POST-PRODUCTION WORKFLOWS
1. Recording to Internal Storage
It can record to internal media or an external USB-C flash disk, which simplifies navigation through clips and allows the camera to sync your media files with other users globally.

2. Selecting and Sending Clips
If you're offline, when you have access to the internet again, just browse through the files and manually select which clips you want to send to Blackmagic Cloud.

3. Recording in DaVinci Resolve
Go to Blackmagic Cloud, select a project in DaVinci Resolve before you start recording. After each recording, the stand will be automatically loaded and synchronized for all DaVinci users in that project.

CONNECT MOBILE DATA ON 5G OR 4G PHONES
When uploading to the Blackmagic Cloud, use Apple or Android phones to connect to the internet via mobile data.
Simply plug your device into the USB-C port and Blackmagic PYXIS will be set to use mobile data.
Both high-speed 5G mobile phones and 4G models are compatible. The camera also includes an Ethernet port for wired connection, making it possible to send files during filming so that post-production teams can start working in real time.
In addition, on-set colorization can be done in specialized studios and upgraded to DaVinci on set.
It's a truly global post production solution, integrated with Blackmagic Cloud, that makes it possible to build incredible teams of creative professionals.

COMPATIBLE WITH URSA CINE VIEWFINDER AND ACCESSORIES
Blackmagic PYXIS supports the optional Blackmagic URSA Cine EVF to make shooting outdoors and handheld shooting accurate and easy.
It features a high-quality color 1920 x 1080 OLED display with a built-in proximity sensor and four-element glass diopter for exceptional accuracy with a wide focus adjustment.
The integrated digital focus table ensures a perfect focus setting in the viewfinder.
You can also view important status information , such as framing guides.
The URSA Cine EVF is extremely easy to connect.
Simply attach it to the included extension arm and connect it to the camera with a single USB-C cable.
It can be positioned in different ways and has two different types of eyepieces.

PROFESSIONAL CONNECTIONS FOR CUSTOM RIGS
Blackmagic PYXIS has a variety of connections for audio, monitoring, power and more.
The camera also includes a 12G-SDI monitoring output with support for HDR and Ultra HD output, which allows you to connect an SDI monitor for on-set image monitoring, with or without the overlays that display critical information and camera status.
SDI allows for much longer cables than HDMI, making it easier to reach distant monitors on set.
There's also a mini XLR connection with 48-volt phantom power for microphones, a 3.5mm camcorder-style microphone jack, timecode input, reference input, headphone jack, and a lockable DC power connector.

BUILT-IN MICROPHONES AND PROFESSIONAL AUDIO INPUTS
With built-in professional high-fidelity audio recording, you'll never need to carry a separate sound recorder again.
The Blackmagic PYXIS has a mini XLR input with 48 volt phantom power for connecting professional microphones such as boom and lavalier microphones.
The built-in microphones have an extremely low noise floor, are wind and impact resistant, pick up excellent sound quality, and are ideal for recording guide tracks on location.
There's also a 3.5mm audio jack for connecting video camera microphones, plus a built-in speaker for playback and a 3.5mm jack jack for headphones.
These audio connections allow you to record two separate audio tracks using two microphones without an external mixer .

CUSTOM 3D LUTS TO RECREATE CINEMA LOOKS
Digital film cameras record in a logarithmic color space to preserve dynamic range, which is great during post-production, but when these files are viewed on monitors, they can be displayed with less contrast and saturation.
3D LUTs solve this problem by allowing you to apply a "look" to the monitor to get an idea of how the final images will look during editing.
They can be applied temporarily for monitoring only, or recorded to Blackmagic RAW files for use in post production.
Blackmagic PYXIS is compatible with industry standard 17 and 33 point 3D LUT files. You can also work with the included LUTs, such as Extended Video, Film to Video, Film to Rec.2020, and more.

USB-C FOR EXTERNAL DISKS AND ETHERNET CONTROL
Blackmagic PYXIS has an innovative , high speed USB-C expansion port that operates at up to 10 Gb/s.
USB-C technology, available in most modern computers, also provides power, making it possible to connect external accessories such as flash drives and high-speed SSDs for significantly longer write times.
And best of all , when you finish filming, you just have to connect the external disk to the computer and start editing and color correction on the disk itself, on the spot, without having to copy the files.
You can also use the built-in Ethernet port to control the camera over the network via secure, easy-to-use REST APIs. You can even make copies of the camera files over the network.

LIVE STREAMING WITH BUILT-IN SRT AND RTMP
Now you can stream live from movie sets. Blackmagic PYXIS features a hardware-based streaming engine that supports RTMP and SRT streaming for YouTube, Facebook, X and more. To connect to the internet, you have two options: connect via Ethernet or use a 4G or 5G mobile phone for mobile data.
Because streaming is integrated into the camera, you can view the transmission status and data rate in the viewfinder and LCD.
If you want to establish a wireless return connection to the studio, you can stream to a Blackmagic ATEM Streaming Bridge, which is an H.264 decoder that converts the video stream back to a standard format.
Now, the entire post-production team can follow the filming, live, as it happens.

FAST MULTI-CAMERA SHOOTING IN PERFECT SYNC
Professional cameras include professional features and also have a timecode input, allowing you to shoot with more than one camera while maintaining perfect synchronization.
Simply connect an external time code generator to the BNC time code input and the camera will detect the time code automatically and lock the internal generator.
Now, each camera can start and stop recording, and all shots from all cameras will have the same corresponding timecode. Imagine photographing a music festival with multiple moving cameras. Best of all, DaVinci Resolve automatically finds and syncs shots from all your cameras, so you don't have to waste time selecting thousands of shots!

AVAILABLE IN 13 POPULAR LANGUAGES
Available in 13 popular languages, Blackmagic PYXIS is designed for use around the world.
When setting up your camera, you can choose to work in English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Turkish, Chinese, Japanese, or Korean.
Because changing the language is easy, you can share the camera with other team members on trips to locations around the world.
When switching languages, all screen overlays, configuration menus, and monitoring information will be displayed in the selected language .

WIRELESS CAMERA REMOTE CONTROL VIA BLUETOOTH
By positioning the camera at the end of a boom pole, or other hard-to-reach place, it is possible to control it via Bluetooth from a distance of up to nine meters.
Download the Blackmagic Camera Control app on your iPad or use third-party apps like Bluetooth+ or tRigger on your iOS and Android devices.
There's even a free developer SDK with sample code available on the Blackmagic Design developer site, so you can create your own digital camera and slate remote control solutions! Imagine creating an application that can synchronize the time code and trigger all the cameras to record simultaneously. The possibilities are endless!

POWER WITH BATTERIES OR DC 12V
Blackmagic PYXIS uses high capacity BP-U batteries. These popular batteries are available in a variety of capacities and are commonly found around the world.
The BP-U series battery with increased capacity allows you to shoot for more than three hours on a single charge.
Plus, there's a wide range of battery adapters and charging plates available so your battery never runs out of charge.
When using DC power, a lockable connector is used so you don't have to worry about losing power while shooting.
This is ideal when the camera is out of reach on a stand or crane. An international plug adapter kit is also included for use  worldwide.

DAVINCI RESOLVE STUDIO INCLUDED
Blackmagic PYXIS includes a full version of DaVinci Resolve Studio, the same software used in Hollywood to create blockbuster movies, TV shows, commercials, and more.
DaVinci Resolve includes the new Cuts page, with smart editing tools and innovative features designed to help  users find the images they want, edit and deliver quickly.
In addition to the new cutting page, it also features DaVinci's legendary professional editing tools, advanced color correction, sound post and visual effects, all in one software.
Now you can use the same cutting-edge software as professional editors and colorists.
