A solid and resistant body
The PENTAX WG-1000 has a reliable all-weather housing, waterproof (JIS Class 8) to a depth of 15 meters and can be operated continuously for up to an hour; it is dustproof (JIS Class 6) against dirt and stains and shockproof* even against drops from a height of up to two meters. Thanks to this robust construction, the WG-1000 can be used for a wide range of activities, even in harsh and demanding conditions, and even for underwater shots. A special feature opens up more options for use.
Crisp and clear images
The WG-1000 features a back-illuminated CMOS image sensor with approximately 16.35 effective megapixels and excellent light reception efficiency to deliver sharp, clear, high-resolution images.
4x optical zoom lens
Inside its compact and lightweight body, it features a four-times optical zoom lens with a focal length coverage of 4.9mm to 19.6mm (equivalent to approx. 27mm to 108mm in the 35mm format) to accommodate a wide range of applications. When coupled with its Digital Zoom function, it can extend the zoom range by approximately 24 times.
Reliable protection
Because WG-1000 can be safely sterilized with solutions containing ethanol, sodium hypochlorite (approved as a food additive disinfectant), or chlorine dioxide, you can use it in medical facilities and production lines.
