Choose the most suitable shooting direction with a handy switch
A simple three-way switch on the microphone's rear panel allows you to quickly switch between all three pickup directions, giving you the flexibility to tailor them to your pickup needs.
- Super directional: front area focused
Ideal for interviews or selfies, superdirectional sense picks up sound from a focused area in front of the microphone, effectively suppressing off-axis sounds and behind the camera.
Unidirectional: Wide Front Range
Perfect for multi-person conversations, the unidirectional sense captures sound from a wide field in front of the microphone, minimizing pickup behind.
Omnidirectional: sound from any direction
Omnidirectional sense captures audio equally from all directions, useful for recording environmental sounds or the camera operator's voice.

The ECM-B10 converts analogue sound to digital in the microphone body and performs digital signal processing with Sony's unique algorithms, enabling three-way directional and noise reduction.

The ECM-B10's noise-cutting filter is very effective at reducing extraneous noise through the use of digital signal processing algorithms, maximizing audio quality at the recording stage and simplifying post-processing.
No audio degradation during transmission
When used in combination with a camera equipped with Multi Interface (MI) support that supports a digital audio interface, the ECM-B10 transmits audio directly as a digital signal, producing high-quality sound without degradation.
Cable-free connection
No cables are required to connect to a wide range of Sony cameras equipped with MI support, reducing interference, noise and complexity.
Battery-free operation
Power is also provided via MI support on compatible cameras, so you don't have to worry about the microphone battery running out of charge during a shoot.
Intuitive rear panel, easily visible
Controls for audio level, shooting direction, filters and other functions are easily accessible from the rear panel, visible at a glance for added peace of mind and quick adjustments while shooting.
