NISI Square Filter 150x170mm Nano IR Medium GND ND4 (0.6) (2 Stops)
The Nano IR Medium Graduated Neutral Density Filter 150x170mm – ND4 (0.6) – 2 Stop is a rectangular filter that helps darken specific areas of an image, such as clear skies, while allowing for normal, unaffected exposure in other regions of the image.
The filter is denser at the edge and tapers in the middle, with a mid-edge transition line between dense and bright areas. A neutral-density filter with a mid-edge transition line is particularly useful for images that feature buildings, small mountains, and other elements jutting high above the horizon. The transition zone of a medium is 40% smaller than a Soft GND and is wonderful to photograph at sunrise and sunset.
NiSi GND filters do not affect the coloration of the image, offer a realistic color, and are made of high-quality optical glass (not resin) with nano coating to prevent the loss of any detail.
When using the neutral density filter, the camera is vulnerable to infrared light, which will cast unwanted red color on photos when shooting with a small aperture.
NiSi GND filters have an infrared protective coating layer to eliminate infrared light through the lens and bring back natural, realistic color.
The NiSi 150mm filter system is great for cameras with lenses that don't have a standard filter thread.
This 150mm x 170mm filter is compatible with the NiSi S6 filter system.
Construction
All NiSi squares use Nano Coating®, this text indicates the use of the exclusive Nano Coating treatment that makes the filter water-repellent and oleophobic for perfect sharpness.
NiSi filters also use IR technology, i.e. the coating that blocks infrared light and therefore eliminates the risk of magenta tint.
