NISI Horizon Neutral Density Filter ND16 100x150mm
The NiSi filter 100x150mm Neutral Density Horizon – ND16 (1.2) – 4 Stop can be applied to darken the sky, specifically along the horizon line during sunrise or sunset, while allowing normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image.
This filter has a density band of 1.2 in its central region that provides a reduction of up to 4 stops in the light entering a lens. It has a smooth transition to the ends that are completely clear.
A narrow 1.2 density band, with larger light areas directly above and below it, allows the NiSi 100x150mm Neutral Density Horizon – ND16 (1.2) – 4 Stop filter to specifically match the positioning of the sun when it is on or immediately above the horizon.
In these cases, the sun will appear closer to the center of an image as opposed to the top edge, and an increase in brightness is created that is much more prominent on either side of the sun than above or below it. This brightness pattern matches the filter density pattern.
The transition lines with soft edges in this filter are useful for images that have features along the sun that cannot be confined within the density band.
This filter is compatible with filter holders that can accommodate 2mm thick and 100mm wide rectangular filters and is constructed of optical glass for clarity and color fidelity.
Each glass surface includes a layer of nano coating.
A faux leather pouch is included with this filter for storage and transport.
